RHH returns to DVD
The wait is finally over. There are many similarities to the Rev's 2002 DVD since it was filmed by the same folks.I am not set up for surround sound so I preferred the higher frequencies of the second "stereo" audio channel. (same with their first dvd)Other than us all being a little older, the most noticeable difference here is Paul Simmons (former Legendary Shack Shakers) on Drums instead of Scott Churilla, who rejoined in March.Paul's extended drum solo was excellently lit/filmed... this dvd is a fine documentation of his time with the band.I'll admit to leaving the "best of" CD in the box since I already own the albums. The Rev has refined many of his songs and guitar sound in the past decade.Because of this, this is one that I would not hesitate to show those who may be skittish about the band's "punk" elements. (which are still plenty intact, thankfully)Many of us Rev fans have grown complacent, taking such great talent for granted, but I am not at all sorry for purchasing this one... and can honestly say that it exceeded my expectations.Sure, there are other great bands out there - but EVERYBODY remembers the first time they saw Reverend Horton Heat.

Been waiting for this
I've seen RevHo live 7 times. I've been waiting for this release for a very long time. As with any live performance, there are a few songs I would have liked to hear but that's always going to be the case. I really like the booklet and find it fun to flip through. I also like the way the concert DVD/interview segments are put together with the interviews mixed in between the songs (and we had a Lemmy sighting!). If one isn't familiar with The Reverend, it's a great starting point as the song choices do span his career quite well.

25 to Life
The DVD shows not only the talent of the musicians, but brings out their personalities as well. I love the way that each of them connects with the audience, and I enjoyed the stories of how they got to where they are today. I have to wonder why you never hear them played on the radio, at least not where I live. You can't go wrong with the purchase of this boxed set.
