Fated: Alex Verus, Book 1

I have just reread all the Alex Vera books and loved them yet again. Easy to read (or listen to) with interesting stories and character development which comes through all the books. I like the intrigue and politics of the Council which mirrors most political situations at the moment as you don't really know who to trust - the bad are good and the good are bad and others somewhere in between. There are similarities with Harry Dresden but I preferred these as they are mostly set in London (in and around Camden Town) so more appropriate for the British market.

I thought the overall story was OK but not great. Some of the characters were interesting and different but the narration left me uninterested in the hero plight.Dull

Excellent book and darn good audio narration. How on earth the previous reviewer felt comfortable writing a 1 star review I will never understand. This series is terrific and well worth checking out, and NO, I am not linked in any way to Mr Jackson or his publisher. I am simply a reader who thinks this series is great. Nuff said.

I love the Alex Verus Series but this book is just politics-extended fight scene-politics - extended fight scene. I am half way through at the moment and getting restless. Alex seems to have gone mad killing waaaaay more people than he used to or needs to. - Spoiler alert-It is completely out of his character to kill his freinds where he has always looked for the last goodness in them, and instead of writing this as the characters as developing they are just killed. It is dusapiinting.Also the narrator's voice in this audio book is nore monotonous and quite often shouty but in a boring way. There is a lack of richness, sincerity and character.But i am only halfway through, i am hoping this all changes and the character, and te book are saved.

If your into Harry Dresdon then my advise would be not bother with this. You won't be satisfied!
