Component RGB - CAT5 Extender Device Balun 120m Perfect for long distance signal transmission, up to 120m, that would be otherwise not possible. Includes 1 Transmitter, 1 Receiver. The units are passive, no power source is needed. The component CAT5 transmitter sits next to your component source, such as a DVD player and is connected to the source by a standard component cable. The receiver should be plugged into an output device such as a TV, using a component cable. The output device can be located up to 120 metres away. The CAT5 cable can then be run in between the transmitter and receiver up to 120 metres length. This extender allows users to take advantage of CAT5 cable for connecting devices over long distances. A CAT5 extender device is a cost effective way to connect devices over long distances without loss of signal quality, (standard component cables could only be run up to 20 metres and would be very expensive). CAT5 cable is thin and flexible so is easily installed. It can be self terminated which allows for tailored lengths to meet the exact requirements of any installation. Distance ? Usable distance between transmitter and receiver will vary depending on strength of signal, quality of terminations and sources of interference. The 120m distance is based on use of CAT5, and should be considered the minimum. Usable distances are likely to be much greater and will increase with use of higher rated cable. Supports 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p resolutions. The transmitter and receiver will work at 1080P up to approx. 50m. Build Quality ? The transmitter and receiver are well built and are compact. Gold Plated Connectors increase signal quality. Cables ? For best quality over long distances, we recommend use of high quality cables, running to and from the transmitter and receiver.
