FRIGIDAIRE White Energy Star 8,000 BTU 115V Cool Connect Smart Window Air Conditioner with Wi-Fi Control

Does not make abnormally loud noise as some reviews state. Looks slick and works very well. Blows cool air up instead of straight out which is better for cooling the room. Easy to assemble and comes with everything you need to seal any gaps.

This is absolutely the most amazing and efficient window ac unit i have ever had the pleasure of owning.

Just installed in a small 300 sq ft space, keeps its at the ideal temp, love the eco option, sleek design, I love it!

Unpacked and installed this a/c today as the temps reached 88 degrees in NY. It's been on for 5 hours now, set to Cool at 60 degrees on High fan…and it's not cold/cool at all. The thermostat started at 82 degrees, but it will not go down any lower than 80 degrees. The room this a/c is installed in is only 12 x18 (216 sq ft) and the a/c claims to be good for 350 sq ft. It's also really loud (even on Low fan). Louder than other a/cs I've owned. The time has passed to return. So, I'm stuck with this useless piece of trash…which is where it'll probably end up. Don't waste your money on this. Maybe it'll work for a room that's no bigger than 8 x 10…?

Pros:Looks.Drain Plug hole.Easily removable front vent.AC works.Cons:Comparably loud.Drain plug hole is at the bottom left of the unit and not at the back. Why this assymetry?Drain nozzle is a separate $18 accessory.Wifi is broken.App is broken.AC keeps reverting to Eco mode every time you turn it on. No way to override this useless "feature" annoyance.Remote uses button battery and minimal - cannot create a schedule.Requires wifi and app connected to access added features like scheduling, but wifi app setup is broken.Vents are at the top not on the front of the unit - aims cold air to ceiling.Styrofoam inside instead of plastic.During usage, crackle heard from temperature change due to styrofoam interior.Frigidaire discontinued this 8,000 BTU model but not the 10,000 or 12,000 units. So support might be questionable.Does not work well with Sensibo.More cons I cannot think of at the moment.Why I kept this over a better LG unit is because LG went out of their way to remove the drain plug from their top-rated 8000 BTU unit. A drain plug is a necessity if you don't want water spilling off and making a mess during regular use.Sadly, there is no window AC unit at this time that looks as sleek and modern as this and has working "smart" features and is available now. I had to pick the lesser of two evils instead of buying and keeping a unit I would love.Sadly, dual inverter ACs have a high pitch noise that I know I will hate and is a normal part of their new compressor systems. So they were not an option.Windmill AC is soldout so nothing else aesthetically pleasing with modern features exists at this time.I've spent countless hours looking for a sleek unit that fits my window with wifi but sadly most units look like they are from the 90s, does not fit my window, is sold out, or this one, with broken functions. But at least I know this one has a drain plug. :-/Also this unit does not work well with my Sensibo retrofit which lets you control old units via wifi. Sendibo is also on Amazon and worked well with my old unit that I had to replace.Sometimes Sensibo thinks the Frigidaire AC is on when it is not and vice versa. Plus adjusting temperature is not accurate but relative to the starting AC temp. And, again, it recerts to Eco mode upon startup so you need to press "Cool / Cold" to get out of that mode.

I wanted to love this AC. It’s sleek looking, great design, light enough so a bracket is not needed. But it turns on and off, so often, that the noise is distracting. This is not in a big room - less than 300 sq ft. This Frigidaire is only quiet when it's off, and it's not off often enough. Compare to a dual inverter AC - the 14000 BTU dual AC inverter is fantastic, so quiet. Maybe it's just this unit, because usually Frigidaire is great.
