Virbac Preventic Collar - 25" -1 Single Collar

I use this collar on my golden retriever and it works better than everything else we have tried. I avoided using the collar simply for aesthetic purposes, so I have used every other form of tick prevention imaginable. The over the counter topical gel and the vet prescribed gel both smell horrible and stop working anytime he jumped in water and the chewables did not work. One type we tried killed the ticks after they bit my dog. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to search for ticks on a hyper, 80 pound, long-haired golden?! This collar really does prevent the ticks from even biting my dog. I went from pulling multiple ticks off my dog every day to rarely finding one on him at all.

I have used preventic collars in the past and had good results. This year I had one dog I was picking a tick or two off of nearly daily. The dog was being hunted and bedded in straw and it was just becoming a problem. I read reviews on some other more expensive collars and eventually just went with what I knew. Since putting the preventic on the dog I have not had one tick on it. In my experience these collars just plain work. I would highly recommend them.

I've been buying this collar for a few years now and I really do think it is the most effective one out there (and a lot less expensive than other brands). Also great for dogs that won't eat a chew or don't like the topical tubes.

I Have Used This Brand For 25 years, and NEVER had an issue with Ticks on ANY of MY Dogs. They do last about 3 months if you take it off when around water. No problem with Size, just cut as needed. I will say that they have increase the price of these collars, but they have been VERY beneficial for Control of Ticks, Never have had a Flea Either. I've bought these for several years for my large dogs against ticks. They work very well and I love the fact they aren't having to ingest anything to fight the ticks. We do remove them for baths. I change them every 3-4 months. I've found dead ticks on my rug after they've come inside so I know the collar is working. Highly recommend.

Hesitant to give my Boston Terrier one of the pill type flea and tick meds. He had a reaction last time. Since wearing the collar he has not had a flea or tick problem so I think this is working.

I have purchased this collar several times before and used it on our dogs. The previous collars have always worked wonders. No ticks almost immediately upon placing on the dogs. The last two collars haven’t worked at all not even a tiny bit. I am very disappointed as I have previously praised and recommended this brand. Not sure if it was a bad batch or the formula was changed. I must also state that we have done nothing different the collars have never gotten wet and have been place correctly on our dogs.
