GenconAll-in-1 Headcollar and Lead Left-handed Blue/White

My 13 month old Dob walks beautifully to heel on or off the lead apart from the first walk in the morning and the last 200 metres to the beach. I had given up and drove her for her early morning run on the beach. She would sing with excitement the short drive there and once out of the car off like a rocket. I was going to wait until she was 18 months to do the early morning walk to the beach but thought I would give this product a try. Of course she hated it but it stayed put and we got to the beach quite easily. Once there and I removed it she was off like a rocket. On the way home nose part not needed as excitement was over.

This lead is the best thing ever…my 40kg Old English Sheep dog who pulls and is very reactive to other dogs on his usual leads…with this he walks beside me and doesn’t even look at other dogs…I used the same lead to walk my pulling Dachshund too, no pulling!! It’s like magic…thank you lol

Bought for my puppy in preparation of slip lead use when better trained. More tricky to get on than standard lead but works well and has the added benefit that people’s think he requires a muzzle, so don’t come rushing up to stroke my fluffy young gun dog pup, before I’ve given them permission

Had a nightmare trying to walk my dog, honestly thought I might have to give her up because even trainers couldn’t control her, but this is an absolute game changer. Took a little while to get her used to it but now walks a dream.

This was recommended by a friend with an equally boisterous lab. It works really well however I struggle to get this on my dog. In the past I have used a Halti which has a loop under the chin where you attach the lead. This means that once it was on I could attach and detach a lead easily whilst out on a walk. With this the whole device has to come off and then there is the pain of getting it back on again, possibly under pressure. Apparently dogs get used to it so may improve with time.

The media could not be loaded.  Walking my 10 month old Kelpi/Collie was a nightmare until I bought this genius Gencon All in one lead. She used to pull like mad on a lead, harness and all sorts of other things we tried. I would absolutely recommend this, it’s now a pleasure taking both of our dogs for long walks.She wasn’t sure at first when fitted and she tried many times to take it off but that’s understandable as it was a new thing for her. Plenty of reassurance has been given and her ears are up and a happy dog 🤗

I have a GSD and a Lab who both pull like tanks and lead training has been a challenge. Tried the Halti head collars to good effect but it rode up into the GSDs eyes and did not look comfortable. Bought two of these leads after looking into alternatives. They are well-made and both dogs appeared happy/comfortable wearing. They also worked well to control the pulling, so in that regard I would recommend. However, downsides for me were that the you need to keep dog on the correct side according to what lead (left/right) you buy and mine are wanderers depending on who's walking them and where the other dog is walking. Also, not quite sure how she managed it as I was locking door at the time, but the GSD managed to get it completely off. They do not readily slip back on to an excited pooch, particularly once tangled up and I haven't felt confident to use them since. So rather an expensive purchase (£44 for two) for something I know I will never use again. Overall a good well made lead, just not right for my dogs.

These head collars are a god send for dogs that pull like mad! One of my labs pulls like crazy and makes it really hard for me to walk him. I am in the process of training him to walk to heal and focus on me. Be warned, dont think you can just put the head collar on and you will have the perfect dog. They will have to get used to it across their noses. And will try to rub their faces all over the floor. I put this on with the lead and also a normal lead on his collar, it makes it easier for me to control him, and I can then even let go of the gencon lead and let it drag behind him, and control him with just the normal lead, as he stops pulling, as he thinks I still have control via his nose. They are a perfect training tool to help with getting your dog to walk well. I would recommend. Alongside training and patience with your dog.
