Effective for managing driveway cracks
My driveway is 15 years old in the Northeast and I have been using Henry Elastomeric Crack filler for the last five years to manage the cracks and extend the life of the driveway. If you have a reasonable expectation for this product, then it is for you. I found that it definitely slows the spread of the cracks, yet the results will vary from year to year based on Mother Nature's refreezing cycles in each winter season and your ability to apply the sealer effectively and let it dry properly in the summer. That's why I usually get two jugs each year to maintain the old cracks and patch new ones. Attached are example photos from 2026 winter season - you can see that the filler prevented one crack from growing, yet another crack grew by a hair line that i will be patching in the summer. The filler settles into a thin coat during drying. If you have deep cracks, then try planning a couple of patching sessions during the warm summer for better effect because the single fill of a large crack will definitely not fill the crack completely after it dries out even if you have completely covered it initially (it will still do a great job sealing it from deterioration, so patch it even if you have one opportunity). Also, in my experience I found that this filler is vulnerable to rain during drying even if the rain is beyond the 24 hr recommended drying period. You can drive over the sealer after 24 hrs, but know that it is still drying for many days after that. I have a crack in a section of the driveway where water accumulates in a small pool and one year the rain two days after sealing has pretty much diluted the sealer that was in the area where the water was pooling. Thus, a "pro" tip - try to plan patching when you have dry forecast for at least 3-4 days for better effect and definitely, do not drive over the patched areas within 24 hrs as the sealer will just rub off during the initial day of drying. Impute humidity into the drying period - the sealer will settle longer, if you live in humid regions.

Good sealer with a couple of little flaws
The product does a good job sealing driveway cracks which is the main thing, but a few details to keep in mind. As others have said, the product looks brown when it is first applied and then dries to a shiny black color. Kind of like a wet look black. It will also shrink some if it used in a large crack. Finally, the product was too thick to apply using the little pour nozzle so I had to just carefully pull out a little bit and then use a putty knife to spread it around. All that said, I would still buy it again.

Best driveway sealant by far!!!
So reading the mixed reviews on this product has me shaking my head. My first order of this product came and the jug of sealer had exploded inside. Looked like the package being delivered in the opening scene of Ace Ventura. Amazon quickly made good with replacing it. 2nd packaged arrived and it wasn’t damaged. It comes in a jug and has a spout that is used as the cap , that can be used for sealing the cracks however it is covered in the sealant. After following the simple shaking instructions and seeing how thin this sealant was I used a cup and paint brush to apply. This stuff went on super easy, filled all the cracks and dried within 10 mins of application. It’s goes on an off brown color and it drys bright black, still looks wet but it’s not. Ive used countless other crack sealers over the years, caulk style and this by far is the easiest and BEST sealant I’ve found. I would give this product 6 stars if I could. Get yourself an old paintbrush, solo cup, and go have fun.

Good quality, if you only need one bottle, worth it .
Did a good job. A bit pricey compared to other competing products at the big hardware stores, but they were out of stock. I’m sealing the driveway soon and was fighting time. Only bought one to try, did about a 10x 10. Not sure how it will stand up the winter but going down it went easy.

East to apply
The very first thing I did was read the back of the gallon bottle. It said to shake the heck out of it for a couple minutes. I did. It said to take the top off to grab the spout and flip it upright. I put on a pair of latex gloves, grabbed a couple paper towels, grabbed the spout and cleaned it off and then I put it through the cap spout side up. Simple and no mess. Then I cut the top about 1/4". Directions say 1/8 inch. How would tar flow through an 1/8 in hole? I don't think it would so that's why I cut it 1/4". Outside temperature was about 80 degrees. The tar flowed easily into the cracks that I had cleaned prior to using this stuff. Take your time putting the tar in the cracks and it does a good job. The color is brown when applied and then turns a sort of black color, It takes a couple hours or so before you can walk on it. Directions said to put sand on it so it won't track. If you seal your driveway it's important to know black top sealer doesn't stick to dirt ! I can't rate on how well this will hold up. I just applied it today. When I finished filling the crack I took it to my shop, grabbed a big nail and stick in in the spout and wrapped the spout with plastic and a rubber band. I guess I would buy this again even though I believe it's water based instead of oil based.

I don't recommend it
Very bad product. I am shocked with the good reviews above. Not only It didn't seal my cracks, the product made cracks by itself. I didn't know what to do, to fill the cracks from my driveway? or to fill the cracks from the product?.

Driveway Elastomeric Emulsion Crack Filler
Well, aside from being a bit pricey - any higher and would have passed on it's "convenience" - use aspect. However, it performed better than describe and that was 14 November at 60F ambient with the Container Kept near a heat source for a day to make sure was in the area of 70F or so. And, I did periodically shake it - and not more than a fast 120 secs, rolled it to the other side, and kept is Nozzle Down. I had no "consistency' or "gobbing" issues at all. Actually the 1/8" cut would have been fine. I cut maybe 4-5 mm hole and was fine, but had to be more careful in tipping it to pour. However, if doing all 1/4" or more cracks, 5 mm was perfect. Of course, some settling occurred and went back over which was not problem since in about 15 min or so (guessing) turned "black" from it's lighter pour color and was hardening. I think (guessing) I was out there about an hour 1-2 at most and by the time I was done, the "drips" I didn't wipe were hard, like pebbles (not, just a comparison for appearance, feel). I kept a narrow, natural hair brush, ~1/2" and long haired, but a "cheap" spot brush, not stiff and not nylon and just shifted the thicker pours and worked in quickly the rest. It applied as expected, better than actually. I am sure if left it as it, for this winter, I'd maintain - as is my plan, then do a heavy coat re-sealing in the spring. However, I'll level it up as appropriate today -- the next day another 60F +- ambient, no less than 50F and no rain for more than 24hrs anticipated. So, for any less than favorable reviews, I am glad it didn't got like that - and it did not. And, all I did to prep was stiff Broom Swept. Anything more - just would not make a difference in my situation - there was nothing more to do than that. The wind blew and etc. and anthing that messed up my prep, well, no effect really. What I like too was the label instructions says, correctly, the surface can be moist or "wet" just not like standing water and soaked. So, if had a more warm day, if one was to give it a good hosing if needed it - you'd be good to go an hour or so later - correct?!, well, I would and comment it if helps anyone wondering. In my area, there's always going to be some - no bone dry conditions and don't think that level of dry is actually better for this in terms of binding with the surface and below it. So, meaning any bit's of dirt that may be there, it bound to and stuck it hard to the surface (made sure to get that cleaned up prior to *hardening" hard). I hope that helps someone!

Excellent Product
Very easy to apply and fills the cracks just the way it's supposed to. So far I've only had it on for 2 weeks but it looks great. There's been no cracking and some of the cracks that it filled were half an inch wide and it did a great job on them. The disadvantage is that it's expensive. But I felt I'd rather use an expensive product once then a less expensive one twice.

Small lumps
Works well and easy to apply. The cap needs to be cut to a minimum of 1/4” in to pass the small lumps in the mix. Very few but will. Plug the applicator tip up if it is smaller.

Comes in a cheap bottle that broke during delivery
Bottle is made of cheap plastic that broke during delivery. When I opened the bag it was shipped in it exploded all over my face and hands. Stung my eyes and when I showered to get it off it stained my tile which I can’t remove.
