Great product and easy to install
The product, especially for the price, is great and easy to install. The only two downsides I had was: 1. The power cable comes out of the back, and I need it to come out of the top, so I had to cut the metal in two places to get the wire to come out of top; 2. The vent covers under neath look great but they are very very very weak and flimsy...mine had the corners hanging down past the edge so I slightly bent them so they wouldn’t stick out, it worked fine but I over did it on one and now there is a spot you can tell was bent. It doesn’t show at all from outside so I am still very happy with product at this price, but would like to know if you can buy or replace the vent covers if needed? Also, how do you replace led lights if needed? The lights are very bright and they are a more modern bright white, so they look great.

Great looking unit
When I removed my old hood I found that the electrical connections were hard wired into the house wiring. I had to disconnect the power cord inside the box and reconnect to the house wiring with wire nuts. Worked out Ok but a little time consuming. I have external venting so I had to purchase a roll of the foil tape to seal the vent connection. Buy a complete roll to use about 24 inches? It would be nice if the manufacturer included a piece. The lights are extremely bright and great when cooking but I wish the lights had two intensities or were able to be dimmed for use as a night light. The exhaust fan does a good job but it is noisy as are most hood fans. It's a fairly heavy unit and is best installed with a second person to lend a hand.

Not your average homeowner install
Box was ripped by UPS but no internal damage. Minimal packaging from MFR. No protective film on stainless so I had to wear surgical gloves not to leave finger prints all over it. The preinstalled AC cord was a convenient option until I noticed that the cord was coming from the back and not the top of the unit. It has a knock out hole to move the AC cord if you need to but it's a ton of work. The hole for the rear access AC cord option is larger that the rear so the grommet didn't fit and I needed to add my own. The AC cord was permanently installed with crimped connectors so I had to cut them off, strip the wires and add wire nuts. Luckily I have all the tools and materials to do so, other may not and will need to hire an installer. If your cabinet is not flush on the bottom, most are not, then you have to add blocks of wood to secure the fan to the cabinet. The previous fan had flanges on the side to allow you to screw the fan to the bottom sides of the cab to eliminate the need for wood blocks. The included damper is flimsy and I decided not to use it since my previous fan didn't have one. The knock out on the back for the exhaust takes a lot of effort to remove and can easily bend the housing if not careful. There is only 1 brightness level for the lamp so cannot be used as a night light. Although it puts out a decent amount of light for cooking. The bulbs are a strange type that I have never seen before so might be difficult to replace. The finish of the stainless is okay but not the best. I see some minor imperfections and a spot on the front that won't wipe off. IMO, this is only a small step up from a builder's grade fan.

Great deal! Cons and cons listed.
Very happy with this hood vent.Pro:Cleans and wipes down easyVery good flowLights are soft yellow not to Harshman making breakfastLower is high in volume but the tone is deep and soft. Generally for most ranges in meals the low setting is more than adequate thinking about how you want it to flow with your cabinets it does give you two options of exhaust fan port in which you have to knock out.Con:The port for the wiring is only on the right side it is difficult to route power over or around if your power comes in from the left side of your wall.

This thing sucks!
My old hood's fan went out, as did the replacement motor. This unit upgraded the look of the kitchen, provided better light, and much more airflow. The filters look great and the replaceable bulbs were a requirement for me.However, its not all sunshine and rainbows. This thing is loud. So, if you want performance for cheap, and damn the noise, This is the ticket. But if you need it to be quiet, go elsewhere. The materials overall are cheap, the sheet metal is relatively thin, but frankly its not holding any weight, so not a big issue. I did dock stars for the ease of install. While there is a knockout of the top for power to go in, the cord comes out the back, and is hard wired in. I may have voided the warranty by hacking it off and running the hardline to it, but I knew what I was doing. Also, there are only mount points at the top of the unit, not the back or sides. I needed to install boards under the cabinet to make it work as the old unit was side mounted. One could if so inclined drill holes in the sheet metal on the side, but I am fairly certain that would void any warranty right out the bat. Mine was rear vented, and there were no screws provided for the damper. I found some that work, but heads up for others. Overall, a decent product, once installed, works well for the price, even if it is loud.

Incredible Quality!
We have been waiting to replace our vent-hood in our kitchen until we were ready to re-do our whole kitchen, but it was slowly driving us nuts. We had a lamp hanging out of our cabinets over the stove, and were just trying to make it work. This vent hood looks exactly like the KitchenAid they have at Lowes for $300! It was fairly easy to install once we figured out that the mounting hardware & directions were inside the vent hood itself. Definitely a 2 person job, and took about an hour, but completely doable! And once it is up, it looks incredible. The lights are bright, and the vent isn't too loud. Would totally recommend!
