MW polar Herring Fillets in Hot Tomato Sauce, 6 Ounce (Pack of 14)

These are sooo good. They are very fishy though, just about the most fishiest fish you can buy. These are real fish and whenever I open a can I fantasize that I'm Survivorman up in a cold wilderness trying to stay alive and eating fish, fish, and more fish. These come swimming (not really, the fish are long dead) in a slightly spicy (not much at all) ketchupy sauce. If you're at all worried about the fishy gravy being too hot, don't. The heat is very mild. I actually add a few drops of hot sauce myself. The price on these is really not that bad on Amazon (for now), but this is just a now and then gourmet treat for me. To be honest, if I was really hungry, I could eat at least half a dozen cans of these fishy delights with no problem. They're dead. They wouldn't put up any fight. These are best served (or devoured in my case), slightly chilled. You can also use these in recipes. I like them sometimes mushed into baked beans or chili. If you like fish, you'll love these. Just remember what I said though. They are very, very fishy. Kind've a bit salty too. I put salt on everything but these don't need it. A much more fishy taste than say tuna fish, but nowhere near as that of caviar, which is totally disgusting if you ask me. Try them if you're a fish lover. Avoid completely if you're not that into fishy flavor, cause these are the fishiest fish I ever fished out of a can of fish. I'm off to open a can right now in fact cause just writing this is stirring up the old salivarys. I am Les Stroud when I eat these. Need I say more?

Eating the herring in tomato sauce right out of the can. Tomato 🍅 sauce is not hot but good.

Wasn't too sure what to expect after reading a lot of the reviews, but glad I ordered it. Pretty good twang to it, tomato and spices. Have started to eat herring recently, and wanted something a little different to keep it from getting boring, so i tried this and the mustard sauce herrings - mustard is good, but this is better ;) ... I didn't have any shipping issues, and 'good by' dates are all over 6 months away (they will be gone well before then) ...

These are pretty good. Sauce is OK. There seems to be little spiciness to it.
