Cheaper than buying new controller
I wish I found this sooner! My sadden daughter brought me her joycon and told me it was busted. So, what's a good father to do? Jumped into the truck and headed to the dreaded place that starts with W. $80 plus later, happy girl. My friend at work who is a gamer told me I could have fixed it. He showed me this and I thought dang it. I ordered this and thought it would be impossible to fix myself. Wrong. Super easy to do yourself. I watched a video on a super popular site and in 10 minutes my daughter had a spare controller. The buttons don't feel cheap. Everything works perfect.

Easy work, and decent tools!
Everything about this kit was ideal. Minimalistic packaging. All components and tools comes in a nice plastic case. Every tool you will need for the job is included. I recommend watching a quick how to on YouTube so you know you are ready for the job and well informed. The repair/replacement is simple enough with a little bit of patience. Anyone should be able to do this. I fixed 3 sets of my own joycons, and 2 for a friend. By time I finished with all five sets, I was knocking out the job in 15 min or less per joycon. They work just as one would expect after a quick calibration in the system settings. The only complaint I have, though it is a small one. The joysticks make a very minute clicking sound in certain areas when moved. This seems to dicipate some what after a few days of use. Over all great product!

Works great, except for cosmetic nubs
Overall, this works great. But don't use the cosmetic nubs that go over the thumbsticks; they reduce the range of motion. I thought I had made a mistake in installation, but it was just the overlarge nubs. (Thank you user "Theo Gravity" for pointing this out.)Pros:- replacement stick works better than my original broken on, which is the primary reason for getting this- has all the tools you needCons:- Cosmetic nubs seem nice, but they reduce the range of motion of the stick, which makes the stick worse. Just don't use them.- No instructions in-box or links to any how-to videos. Fortunately, independent repair videos are easy enough to find online.I'm going to buy additional kits to fix my nephew's joycons!

Exactly what I needed- easy to do!
First - follow instructions on ifixit dot com - go to that site and search for "left joycon joystick replacement" then also search for "right joycon joystick replacement" if you are also replacing the right one. They are done differently because of the antennae in the right hand one. This site has step by step instructions with lots of photos and lots of user comments- READ the comments as well! I found from the comments that removing the battery is not necessary- may people broke the connector trying to remove it- you simply move it out of the way VERY carefully and you'll have no problems.Be VERY gentle when doing the replacement- with EVERYTHING- the connector ribbons do not need to be shoved hard into the connections- they slip in gently and don't go in very far- be sure to take note as you take them out of the placement, direction, etc- so you can remember how to properly put them back in and not break anything,This set had everything I needed. I only needed to replace the joysticks themselves since my charging rails are fine- but the kit included the rail buckles as well. You have to be VERY careful with the screws on the outside of the controller- VERY easy to strip. On my 2nd controller I had some issues and ended up being able to switch to the phillips screwdriver and was able to both remove and re-install them after the joystick replacement.I bought my switch when it first came out with the bundle that had two sets of joy cons- both sets had the dreaded drift issue within a matter of months. I bought a wireless pro-type controller and used that, then eventually spent an additional $60+ on another set of joy cons. Decided to try this repair kit as it was only $12+ and was so thrilled with it once I fixed my first pair of joycons that I purchased another to fix my second set. Now my whole family will be able to play Mario Kart and Luigi's mansion together again. We'll see how long they last- they definitely feel like the same quality as the original ones so I'm hopeful - regardless - better than having controllers that don't work at all because of crazy drift. The originals had issues within 6-9 months, so if these last anywhere close to that it was a great deal! For reference- the seller was UOWGA Official.

Great kit!
The kit came with everything to fix the joystick drifting problem. The metal locking tabs were a plus as my son's joycon kept coming off too easy. The provided tools fits and works perfectly. No issues with stripped screws like I saw in some of the reviews. However be aware to take it easy when removing the ribbon cable. I actually damage the right joycon power connector piece so now when I connect the joycon into the switch the joycon freezes and does work. Have ro remove the joycon from the Switch for it to work. Lucky I can get a new connector on Ebay for 5 bucks and I do have a reflow station to repair the damage connector that was caused by my fault.Oh yeah remeber to calibrate the joysticks after you change them out.
