Great shelf for the money
I was on the fence about this purchase because of all the back and forth reviews. Some people were frustrated and claimed cheap construction; parts didn't fit right; didn't come with assembly instructions; screws pulled right out, dowels weren't the right size; the list goes on. But then there were reviews claiming a great buy but no details provided. So I questioned whether those people were hacks and just slapped this cheapo thing together and were just happy because they don't care, or whether the complaints were legit. But a $60 shelf; I feel you can't lose. Two big thumbs up for this one! It is particle board furniture. Well placed, pre-drilled holes for every piece. Even the backing panels had predrilled holes for the brads. It comes with all the hardware you need and clear, easy to understand assembly instructions, even hardware for mounting it to a wall for more stabilization. You need a screw driver and a light weight hammer. 25 minutes from pulling the box into my kitchen to completed assembly. It looks good and stands sturdy on the floor. And we are using for extra pantry space. It is sturdy enough to hold up more weight than just DVDs. Now on to the whiners here in the review section. -Yes, it comes with instructions. You have to remove everything from the box, dummy. The instructions were between the packing foam and box. -The pre-drilled holes are exactly where they need to be. If you follow the instructions, they have pictures, you see how to layout the pieces. Hardware goes right in. -Whoever claimed all the screws stripped out, the instructions say you need a screw driver, not a power tool. It's particle board. Good job, rookie. -The dowels aren't supposed to fit tight. I laughed when I read that quibble because, yeah, I bet your dowel isn't big enough. They help align the pieces and help square it up during assembly. That's it. -Someone said the shelf fell right over after they finished putting it together. The floor board is wider than the rest of em and it is labelled in accordance with the instructions. I can only imagine how sloppily you put it together. Ok, I'm done with my rant. I like the shelf. It was worth my money.

Decent Game Collecting Cabinet
This cabinet is pretty good considering its on a budget. My biggest complaint is that they didn't drill holes to make the placement of shelves more customizable and some of the holes for the pegs aren't lined up properly. For instance the first top shelf is perfectly lined up for ps1 and Dreamcast games but I cant properly line up a shelf to accommodate a 2nd shelf below it to hold my ps1 games. There's a nice big gap for shelf two that doesn't have the same quality as the first top shelf for storing ps1 games because the holes aren't lined up to do so. When you're building it can feel a bit iffy and wobbly until you complete it with the backboard then it becomes a lot more sturdy just be careful when you put it together so you don't pull the screws out accidentally lol Overall its a pretty solid budget option, I'll buy more of these and hope they improve on the design in the future. Whoever is in charge of this product should take Q&A from gamers as I can tell most people who buys these are gaming collectors. So for anyone who is buying this to store their game collection its going to be like this per shelf most likely for you. Top shelf PS1,Dreamcast or 3DS/DS games, 2nd shelf weirdly gapped storage for the same as the top shelf but you will stack them horizontally instead of vertically like the top shelf, 3rd shelf will be good for blu ray sized cases such as ps3,ps4 and xbox one/series x games. 4th and 5th shelf good for DVD sized cases such as og xbox/xbox 360 and ps2 games. 5th shelf for switch games although will fit a little tight and also you could stack more cd sized cases like ps1 or dreamcast horizontally again. bottom shelf will have the most headroom which is annoying because it feels like a waste of space due to the inefficient design but will hold more og xbox /xbox 360 cases and perhaps some type of sealed collectors edition box instead. Overall it does a decent job for the price, just wish it was a bit more sturdy and the design was more efficient. ordered 2 of these and will most likely order a third when I need more storage for my collection. Bottom line if you're looking for storage on a budget these are pretty good to go with, they dont look half bad either. Just know there are some quirks that comes with it.

Perfect for DVDs
LOVE these shelves. I bought 2 on separate occasions, two different colors. I love the size- my DVD’s fit perfectly on the shelves & they include enough shelves to store CD’s if that’s what you need it for. Very high quality for the price- they are sturdy & look sleek. Pieces were clearly labeled & it was easy to build.

Poor quality product
I ordered this cabinet to display some smaller collectibles and the slim profile seemed like a good fit. It was a little pricey at $61, but because of the unique dimensions, I was willing to pay it. The product arrived in a box that seemed too small for the size of the finished cabinet. That was because there is no one piece that runs the entire height of the cabinet. It is basically two halves that are held together by a few short wooden dowels and some posts with locking cams. This might have been alright if not for several reasons. First, the holes were not drilled completely for some of the hardware. They were also not consistent. The dowels barely fit in some and were very loose in others. Secondly, the cams would not lock over the post very well and in two of the cams, the metal actually broke. The only thing that adds any stability at all is the fact that there is a sheet of cardboard (again in two halves) that is brad nailed to the back of the cabinet. This is a tentative build at best. Under the bottom support of the cabinet, there are some screws that are put in to tie the bottom foot to the upper walls. There is no screw cover and the screws are not countersunk in any way, so if you drag the shelf into place, there is a very good chance you will scratch up your floor. If I had any other immediate better options, I most likely would have just returned this to Amazon, but I needed it quickly and did my own hacks to the cabinet to make it more secure. This product is not worth the money and I would not purchase this brand again or recommend anyone else purchase this.

Functional cabinet in a convenient size. Takes some time to assemble. Not great quality
I like the concept of this cabinet and the size is a good trade between easy to place, and capacity. It took some time to put it together and was harder to assemble than your typical Ikea piece. The frame and shelves are particle board. Be careful to not overtighten the quarter turn fasteners as the boards can be damaged. Much of the strength comes from a 1/4" panel that nails into the particle board from the back, and the cabinet is quite floppy before installing that. After seeing this I decided to put a bead of wood glue all around the back before nailing on the rear panel, then doubled the nailing using a nail gun. It probably would have been good to glue in the dowels too. Be sure that everything is square before nailing! I should mention that the cabinet comes with two mounting brackets to keep the cabinet from falling. They are intended to attach to the top. I find them larger than necessary and not attractive. They could be mounted inside the cabinet and aligned with a stud in the wall if you don't mind going off-script.

Excellent Media Case.
This is a perfectly designed piece of furniture -- practical, functional, sturdy, and attractive. It arrives unassembled in a surprisingly small box, and takes about 20 minutes to an hour to assemble, depending on your skill level with a screwdriver and small hammer. Instructions are diagrammatic and clear. Once assembled, the case has nine shelves for CD/DVDs, six of which are removable and adjustable. It holds a ton of media discs, both single discs and boxed sets. What I love most about this unit is that it's only 6 inches deep, so it takes up virtually no space, even in a small room. Its other dimensions are 25 inches wide by 54 inches tall. Be aware that it weighs about 30 pounds and so is perhaps heavier than it looks. All in all, I am extremely happy with this item; it is actually the most satisfying thing I've purchased in years. This media case is worth every penny for storing a large CD/DVD collection. I bought two of them from Amazon!

Way Better than it looked when it arrived
When it arrived it looked like it was going to be all flimsy so I set it aside for 2 weeks. Then I started putting it together. Ease of assembly only really applies if a) you have electric screwdriver or b) have a monster's strength in your own hands; however, after borrowing a tool it got done. Once it is all together it really does the job well. It is sturdy and holds all of the pieces I want in it. I feel it is a good value for the money.

Great Item - Don't Get In A Hurry
I have read most of the questions and comment on this product and I can certainly understand theMm as I have bought and assembled over 30 of these units and the similar single unit for my home theater DVD/Blu-Ray library. I probably have more than average experience in assembling this type of furniture due to my previous work. Hopefully my comments can be of help to prospective buyers. First, I am more than happy with the presentation of my disc library in my home theater. Every visitor comments on the library before they comment on my art deco interior or my extensive electronics. I do think that it turned out well. I primarily used the 38435720 Oskar 464 Media Wall Unit to line both sides of my theater. Assembly: The trick to assembling these units is to not get in a hurry in the beginning and do it right. If you make a mistake early on, you will work yourself to death trying to force something to make it right. Second, read the instructions. Sounds easy, but most of us know that we don't do it. Third, You have to open your box completely, and lay out all your parts in correct stacks according to part number or letter. Get yourself a shoe box or cake pan for all of the hardware so you have it all ready to use and you know where it is and you don't loose any of it. Then get rid of all the packing. I read all of the problems that people were having with assembly, and most of it was because they did not get the first shelves assembled SQUARE. Everything on these units must be square or none of the holes will line up. Until you are VERY sure of what you are doing, make sure that you use a carpenter's square to attach the sides to the shelves in a square manner. Always keep the unit square as you are working. (hint: if you do not have a square, you can check the rack or square of your shelf by measuring the diagonal top to bottom of each side. then move it until each side of the diagonal is exactly the same. then it is perfectly square) I found that using a little carpenter's glue in the wood pegs made the shelf at least 50% more sturdy. The unit gets most of its strength from its back. That is what keeps the unit square, that is what is going to make the shelves fit, and that is what is going to allow you to attach shelves together if you want to have more than one shelf for your movie library. Although the manufacturer recommends that you nail the back on with the small brads that they provide, I found that they have a tendency to pull out of the particle board. Since the back is so important to the integrity of these shelves, I chose to lay the shelving on its face and lay the backing in place, and if you have done your job properly, the shelf should be square. I check the square, then put two small SCREWS in each back board to keep them in place. I then drill additional screw holes in all of the boards using the back boards as a template. I finish up by filling each of these holes with the small screws. You would not believe how sturdy your shelf is now, just by using screws on the back board, making it square, and using glue on the wooden dowels. You have at least doubled the value of your piece of furniture. Note: You would think that the double Media Wall Unit and the Single Media Wall Unit would be compatible. If you look at the measurements they look like you could set them beside each other and they would fit. They come from the same manufacturer, They are the same finish. Well, kind of, but not really. First the base or foot extends much further on the single unit than on the double. Second, the height is about 1/8 to 1/4 inch different. You can adjust that on the bottom so it is not so noticeable. Third, the shelves are a little different in thickness and in length. I would recommend following the manufacturer's instructions on attaching the shelving to the wall. I would also try to find a stud if at all possible and use one of the screws provided to screw directly into the stud so it is attached at a height somewhere close to the top of the shelf. I used 3/4 inch drywall screws to attach my shelving together. I drilled two small holes directly through two shelving holes I was not using at the top of my unit and straight through to the next unit. I matched the units up and screwed them together. I repeated the procedure at the bottom of the unit. 4 screws are sufficient to attach each unit. With all of the units that I have had, I have never had to return ANY units or ANY parts. I read about the people getting bad cams and breaking them, I learned early on to put my cams in when I lay out my boards and align the arrows. It is NOT tight, it is getting the arrow aligned. I did get one opened box which was obvious freight damage. There was no damage to the wood, (these things are packed well) but there were a few hardware pieces missing. I called the manufacturer and they helped me immediately and courteously and I had my parts within a couple of days. As far as the lamination, the oldest ones that I have are over a year old and they still look new. I can't tell you which ones are the newest and which ones are the oldest. None show any wear. I am getting ready to buy another 3 to house my cd's and Karoke collection.

Shallow enough to fit behind my door, adjustable shelves we great
I bought this because I have a little cassette collection and I was having a hard time finding the old school storage things that everyone had back in the day, like the once pictured on top of this one now...Well, at a good price anyway. They were 2 to 5 dollars each at yard sales for the last 20 years and now suddenly they are 50 or 60 bucks each or more online, lol. Anyway, It holds the tapes, they look good and it is actually deep enough to have two rows deep on a shelf if you are storing blanks or something. It was great for the few cds, dvds and the couple VHS I have left even. I didn't need all the shelves as it would have made the spacing odd but it is something that may come in handy later to be able to add them and change it up. It went together easy but I have put a lot of these types of things together over the years so maybe that didn't hurt me. It seems sturdy and has brackets to install it to the wall for stability, which I did, and they were sufficient. I would buy another or another from this brand if the need arose again.
