OKABASHIMen’s Surf Flip Flops - Sandals

I’m a dedicated Okabashi buyer so I bought these for my husband. All of their products run a tad bit big so size down if you are not at the top of your size. He wished I had gotten a size smaller but chose to keep them because of how comfortable they are. They are like wearing an orthopedic support. They are amazing for rocky and sandy surfaces. The quality will never wear out you will have them for life! They look great and will allow you to walk, hike, stick to any surface. I own dozens of pairs and styles and I will get him a smaller pair next summer.

Little heavy for flip flops but love the footbed and they are very durable (tread on same sandals has lasted two summers and still good to wear). Great if you walk more than you should in flip flops.

Very happy with my Okabashis. Comfortable, durable and made in the USA. They stay clean better and clean up easier than all the other usual suspects. I wear them all the time to the beach, to the store, and to your mom’s. Seriously though, will def be purchasing again.

I couldn't even begin to get my size 13 foot into the XXL. However my daughter's size 10 foot fit just fine.

I’ve been tearing through the $3-9 cheap shower shoes I soon need to dispose of when no more grip on bottom or the cheap thong peace rips off. These have a heavier duty weight and feel. Good fit as I’m a 8.5 US shoe and these are perfectly fit. I can’t wear thick socks and fit my feet inside (telling you don’t try it for style reasons) but fits perfect barefoot. I prefer this subdued logo that blends in and doesn’t stand out by screaming.

For the money I think these are hard to beat. They are priced in the same range as a cheap pair of Walmart sandals while being vastly superior in quality. (And you are supporting fair wage paid American workers instead of Chinese slave labor) I have owned several pairs of flip flops and these by far seem the most durable. The arch support is absolutely amazing. They aren’t quite as comfortable as a nice pair of leather/cloth sandals, nor should they be expected to be because of the material choice they employ. They will however be much more durable and easier to clean than leather/cloth. I can’t stand the nasty black footprint image that develops on a pair of sandals after a few uses. It looks gross and obviously harbors all sorts of filth in the pores of the material. These won’t have that problem.They should also hold their shape for the life of the product wearing down and going flat like most leather sandals. I really like the little bumps that stick up and sort of massage your feet as you walk. I read a lot of reviews that talked about how heavy they are. I ordered size XL (10.5-11.5) and they weighed 12.3 oz each. For comparison my other pair of leather/cloth/rubber flip flops seen in the photo weigh 8 oz each. While the extra weight is easily noticed when in the hand, once you actually have them on your feet walking around the added weight disappears. I will gladly accept an extra 4 oz for the superior durability and 2 year warranty.As stated above I ordered the XL (10.5-11.5) I normally wear a 10.5-11 shoe and these fit me perfectly. They measure exactly 11.66” from tip to tip. I searched for awhile for made in USA flip flops that would be comfortable and durable and these nailed it!

The most underrated thing about these is that long after you've been wearing them, they have a faint (bring it to your nose) sweet plant-based-plastics kind of smell. It beats nearly all the sandals out there even a year later on this count as you don't deal with the funk of sweat or water, dirt or grime that you usually encounter. Aside, it looks like one entire manufactured piece. A cheaper version of these picked up in WalGreens saw the toe separator break, but that was only after someone with a smaller foot (no comment) tripped after borrowing them (so comfy) and the stumble broke these. Meaning, short of bending the shoe and dragging it around, these hold up year over year.

Writing this review to help others with heel pain. I am 99% sure I have plantar fasciitis in my left foot. I have had it off and on for years in both feet, mostly the left for some reason. These sandals help immensely.I didn't want to wear shoes in the house so I thoughts I'd check back with OKABASHi to see if they were making wider widths for women yet. Sadly, they don't seem to be. This men's sandal is the perfect width for me but about a half size to a size too long. I just deal with it.It was nearly a deal breaker that the straps are too tight. Like, ouch tight in the beginning. A male family member with the same length and narrower feet than me couldn't even get his toes more than halfway into them because his feet were too thick to fit under the straps.I only kept them because I can kick them off regularly throughout the day and they really help my heel pain to the point that 20 or 30 minutes wearing them gets me hours of relief without even keeping them on and even if I am walking around.I used to love my OKABASHi Turino style sandals I bought at a convenience store while traveling back in the 80s/90s but at some point they started making them senselessly narrow and pointlessly breakable. The crisscross sandals being terrible offenders of breakage.I am just really hoping these hold up because of the great relief I get. Otherwise they wouldn't be worth the full price since the fit is so frustrating. Honestly they're a little awkward to walk in sometimes so take it slow.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this same model about ten years ago on a whim from a local pharmacy. The rubber is dense and comfortable to wear. There is a slight texture so your feet don't slide around too much, even when wet. I've worn these camping, beach, walking, etc. and they held up nicely. The logo part near the heel did shrink a little bit after being exposed to the hot sun on multiple occasions, but never interfered with that comfort. Unfortunately, I lost one of mine crossing some rapids and was unable to find it again. This is my second pair and have been equally happy with them. I swear they'll last for life!

Bought these to see if they would help relieve heel pain over time. So far so good, using this flip flop, and other measures. The flip flop itself is comfy once you get used to it. The initial impression is a relatively hard inflexible surface. I'm a size 10 in the UK, this was a size 11 and it fitted ok.
