Incredible work by someone who lives in occupied territory, yet sees so much love and forgiveness.

Open your eyes to really see.
An eye opener to a totally different view of the Palestian/Isralie conflict. Totally amazing and thought provoking. A must read.

Faith
This is a book about a faithful and persistent woman. You will learn a great deal about this part of the world and you need to know what she has to tell.

How it feels to women on the ground in Palestine
A poignant, strongly personal word from a Quaker person who has stayed the course in Palestine, mostly in Ramallah. A Christian perspective on a scene that seems practically hopeless.

Not my favorite book but an interesting perspective. Too much religion.

A wonderful compelling book!
A friend gave me Ms Zaru's book to read and I found it to be poignant and informative. Too many Americans think "terrorist" every time they hear the word Palestinian. But as Zaru points out Palestinians are just like everyone else with hopes and dreams of a better future. She goes into detail regarding the harsh occupation by the Israelies---the harrassment, the daily cruelities, the humiliation they go through. I know this to be true since I visited the West Bank in 2003 and saw how the IDF treats the Palestinians. It is very similar to the way white cops treat blacks here in the USA. Zaru points out that as a Palestinian Christian she is often a voice crying in the wilderness. Most American churches are pro-Zionist and ignore her plight and her people's plight. But Zaru makes a strong case for America to be more even-handed and really push for a just settlement where all can live in peace. (America is not a honest dealer for peace by the way. We basically let the Israelis do whatever they want no matter how unjust.) There will never be peace in that area unless both sides see the other as brothers and sisters. Israel can not continue to deny the Palestinians a state of their own. They must either let the Palestinians have a State on the West Bank and Gaza or make them all Israeli citizens. There is no other choice unless they want to go down the barbaric path of ethnic cleansing. If both sides followed Zaru's advice their would be peace.

Fiction
It is amazing that so much dishonesty was fit into one book. From the very start this is a sad piece of bigoted fiction. Louis Farakhan would be proud.
