My dryer's heating recently stopped working and I was left to do a little troubleshooting to identify what was the cause, and turns out, it was indeed the heating element.Starting off, this is OEM as far as I can tell, it's well packaged, looks identical to the original and importantly works as intended for me out of the box.Installation was a bit of a challenge (but that was on the design of the dryer and not on this part itself). It seems like some models of the Whirlpool dryer require you to take practically the whole unit apart to access (as was the case here), but some may luck out and can replace it without as much effort. I'd just suggest taking your time and following some of the guides out there on YouTube if you're like me and need to take the whole thing apart.This has been working great and my dryer is back to working, so my whole household is happy, and I have the added bit of self-satisfaction in knowing I did it. Would highly recommend getting this part if you need it, it worked perfectly for me!

Surprisingly everything seems to be really decent quality. Repair clinic wanted $115 just for the heating element + shipping. I received the element, and 4 sensors with additional hardware for less than $40.00 and my dryer is working perfectly again. This was such an easy DIY and saved hundreds.

This is the second hitting element I had the purchase for my dryer in the last 2 years. They don't seem the last that long but it is way cheaper than buying the name brand directly from the appliance store.

Greetings to my fellow frustrated dryer owner,I rarely write negative reviews. Not because I have the kind of luck that approaches Sam and Dean's on Supernatural, but because I research the best solution or product I need for a particular project. Properly vetted products generally helps you avoid the situation where you'd need to write a negative review, right?This item had/has glowing reviews that I'm beginning to question..... Like many other mundane items with crazy high numbers of people submitting reviews for them.***This heating element lasted 275 days***So, if you (or your wife - depending on your particular situation and technical prowess) were to become pregnant around the time you installed this part in your dryer, the dryer would fail on or near the due date. This is when you need a dryer most; due to all the laundry! Who has time to fix a dryer when you're taking care of a newborn? Oh, and by technical prowess I meant regarding installing the dryer part - not the other thing.We all like to rant and rave about how appliances don't last as long as they used to unless you buy an insanely expensive model. This Whirlpool dryer was an insanely expensive model and I despise it very much. This is the 3rd heating element, the 3rd roller and belt replacement I've done on it in 6 years. So, even the replacement parts are designed to fail on a fairly reliable timetable. This is not the kind of "reliability" I'm looking for.... Also, I think about all those people who can't fix a dryer without calling someone or *GASP* buying a new one to replace a unit that just needs a $30 part(s).Another take away from this might be to put off having children if you recently installed this heating element. The timing here turns out to be critical.This concludes my silly rant and tantrum that accomplished nothing except maybe a chuckle from someone who is also tired of repairing appliances that are built to fail annually.....P.S. I bought the same part again today and will report back in 276 days..... I never said I was particularly bright.
