Casio G-Shock Original GA-100-1A4ER Mens Black Watch

I've bought this watch in 2014 and I'm almost about to hit the 3 year anniversary, let me just say one thing; this watch is awesome! I bought it for 95$ at the time and i don't regret a single cent spent on it. I haven't changed the time on this watch in 6 months and the accuracy is about 1 min off, I don't know about you but i found it outstanding! I'm also going to have to say I've probably never used the analogue part except if i was bored, I've found the digital part to be more useful or just easier to read. On the contrary the light it emits isn't at all bright and is some ugly shade of orange but that isn't important because the watch glows in the dark!9.5/10

I purchased this watch for my fiancé. We love this brand. he does a lot of hard labor and this brand is very durable and sturdy. I love that the watches are scratch resistant, and can be cleaned very easily. This color scheme goes with practically anything. I would recommend this product for this price range.

I have wanted one of these for over 20 years, and just never got one. The G-Shock was what everyone bought at the end of boot camp, but I never did. I have had some nice watches over the years, but was always worried about damaging them. This watch is built like a tank, so I know I do t have to worry about it. I went to a smart watch a few years ago, and have switched back. I just got tired of having to charge them all of the time. This watch has way more features than I will ever use. I do miss just checking my wrist to see a text, but it is also allows me to get away from technology, which is something that most of us could probably use.

I really like this watch! It was easy to reset the time to my local time. The dealer shipped it out quickly and very well padded, the watch came in 2 days early in fact. I’m looking forward to wearing it for many years.

I REALLY REALLY want to like this watch. I spoke with a man on a recent trip that had this watch and immediately ordered mine. It's lightweight but not to the point that it feels cheap. I love the way it feels on my wrist as well. It has a very sporty look about it, I've received several compliments on it in the last couple of days Programming is straightforward, not over complicated at all IMHO.Just hold the adjust button down till it beeps then scroll through the modes and adjust with the other 2 buttons. If you change the time you press the adjust button to sync the hands with the digital display. Pretty basic.All that being said I must agree with some of the other reviewers and say 1) The red hour hand is hard to see in less than perfect light. It may just be my old eyes but I just can't pick it up nearly as quickly as the minute hand. 2) The illumination is pretty inferior. It does light the minute hand pretty well but the red hour is still hard too see. It is less than useless for the digital display.I've all but decided to return this watch because of its poor low light capabilities. I just ordered a Rangeman as a potential replacement, i'll see how I like it and then make a decision on which to return.

Smart looking and rugged.

I read a lot of reviews and spent time (far more than I should have!) deliberating which G shock to get. I do lot of walking/sporty stuff and want a watch that I wouldn't need to remove for a 4 month trip to Asia. I love the look of analogue/digital watches and the balance of aesthetics and functionality in this watch really won me over.It's important to note that the main gripe people have with this watch (and the thing I was most concerned about) is the LED light that illuminates the face. I NEEDED this watch to be usable in the dark so was prepared to return the watch in the event of the watch being 'unreadable', as some people have described it as being. I cannot emphasise this enough, THE LIGHT IS ABSOLUTELY FINE. I am aware it's all down to personal preference, but I have absolutely no problem reading this watch - both the hands AND the digital screens - in the dark. Yes, it's not optimal - a light behind the screen would be more functional, but if you desperately require that feature you're better off buying the GD-100 or similar full digital G-shock anyway. The benefit of the light on this watch being where it is is that it can actually be used as a torch (albeit a weak one) in a pinch to illuminate a map or whatever you need to see in the dark. Also, remember that this single LED style of illumination is not exclusive to this watch - the £100+ analogue/digital G-shock watches also use this method of illumination. That's just how it is.Seriously - go try this on in a shop and see for yourself. The LED on this watch is BRIGHT and you will have no problem reading the watch in the dark. It also just looks awesome. It's just a makes the watch look really, REALLY cool. So in conclusion - the light is fine, don't let it put you off.The watch is extremely comfortable (I'm wearing it right now!) and not too big - but it's a G-shock, so obviously it's pretty big. Casio have managed to get the perfect balance of weight. It's sturdy and weighty enough that it doesn't feel cheap or plasticy, yet it's absolutely NOT what you would describe as a 'heavy' watch - indeed it is very light weight.Really can't say enough good things about this watch. At £55 (this watch is £110 on the high street!!) this watch is an absolute steal. Comes in a beautiful G-shock tin to boot. Absolutely brilliant, feature-full and practical watch. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
