"An endearing story filled with tenderness, humor, and warm family relationships." (Booklist) Little Bear likes to visit Grandmother and Grandfather Bear. He likes to try on Grandfather’s hat. He likes Grandmother’s cooking. But best of all, he loves the stories his grandparents tell him, of robins and goblins, and of Mother Bear when she was little. This Caldecott Honor winner is among the beloved classic Little Bear books from Else Holmelund Minarik and Maurice Sendak. The first, Little Bear , launched the I Can Read early reader series in 1957. In the Little Bear stories, we meet Little Bear, whose adventures are filled with humor and joy. And we meet Mother Bear, who is there whenever Little Bear needs her. When it is cold and snowy outside, she finds just the right outfit for Little Bear to play in. When he goes to the moon, she has a hot lunch waiting for him on his return. And, of course, she never forgets his birthday. An ALA Notable Children's Book, this Level One I Can Read is full of warm and lovingly playful stories that are perfect for children learning to sound out words and sentences. Whether shared at home or in a classroom, the short sentences, familiar words, and simple concepts of Level One books support success for children eager to start reading on their own. Review: A memorable heartwarming set of stories - The story of Mother Bear (when she was a cub) and the Robin was one of the stories that really stuck with me as a child and the illustrations in this book, like the stories themselves, are incredibly heartwarming and memorable. There are very few books as unambiguously good for children and families alike as this one and I would also recommend it to any adults looking to de-stress by reading something nice. Review: Easy listening classic - We listen to this on our echos to fall asleep!

Iconic Book
This is one of my favorite books from childhood. I'm so glad I could find it again to gift it at a baby shower. LIttle Bear is iconic and should be loved by all of us!

An excellent toddler book
This is a great bedtime book. It's warm, engaging, funny, and beautifully illustrated. Highly recommended recommended. I bought all of the Little Bear books on Amazon, and this one is the best. The dialogue in the others is too repetitive and the flow of the story is not as smooth as this one. This is an excellent toddler book. Just make sure that you make the effort to allow your parents to be involved in your toddlers life, otherwise they'll long to have this kind of relationship with their own grandparents.

My favorite childhood book to share
This was a gift for a grandchild. She now knows at least one of Sendak's books besides "Where the wild things are."

Little Bear is a charming little one!
As I read and purchase this for young nieces and nephews, I recognize the soundtrack of my life, and who I’ve become because of the Little Bear books. Kind, nature loving, innocent, playful, from thy bear’s perspective, a timeless treasure.

These books are fun to read to children and hold their attention. Great illustrations too and in time my grandson should be able to start reading them too

低学年の子供に
小学1年の子供が楽しく読めた本です。 単語もやさしく、何回も出てくるので、英語の作文にも役にたったようです。 原文で読むと、日本語との違いもよく分かり、楽しい本でした。
