The built in mat sold it for me; I don't have a good location to clean my guns, and often end up cleaning them on my bed. So having a built in rubber mat to keep from getting solvent, oil, and grime off my sheets is perfect. The tolls are also pretty nice, I'm not a huge fan of the plastic bore patch jags, the brass ones I have from other kits seem to work better. I also wish it had more than one length of rod, as the one that comes with it is much longer than necessary for my handguns. But besides the shorter rod and brass jags that I stole from a defunct kit, everything else is great. The magnetic lid closure is very secure, and never comes open in my backpack when I transport it, the handle is comfortable to use, and the plastic tools help me get the grit in all the tight places on my guns.Overall I would definitely recommend to anyone who's looking for a upper end basic kit that cleans multiple calibers.

Convenient kit for cleaning handguns. You'll need to buy cleaner/lube/grease separately although there is extra room in the storage bag to stuff several bottles if you're trying to keep those things together. Would prefer that the jags be metal, worried about the plastic ones snapping under pressure, but time will tell. Brass rod should be shorter to make it easier to use on typical handgun barrels. Doesn't include a bore snake but realistically that belongs in your range bag, not your cleaning kit, so it makes sense to buy that separately.The storage bag is inside the triangular shaped packing material (see photo), so look closely when unpacking. At first I thought that was a throwaway bit of cardboard. A sticker saying "Look in here" would help.

I am a newbie handgun owner, wanted something that had the basics for several gun calibers and kept things organized. This kit does the trick! The pieces are all generally useful and well made. The built-in case + cleaning area pad sold me on it. Once you're done, it all snaps back into place and rolls away into its pouch. Just add Hoppe's Gun Bore Solvent and Lubricant Oil to your check out, and you'll have everything you need to clean your handgun.

Avid makes some really nice gun cleaning kits. I have had several brands of cleaning kits, including hoppes, and they all ended up in the trash after 4 or 5 uses. I've had my 5.56 bore snake and compact field kit from Avid for several years now, and will get much more uses out of them. I expect this kit to last just as long. Has everything you need to properly clean your hand gun minus cleaning solutions and oil. Wraps up nice and has a storage pouch. The CLP I used didn't soak through the mat. So can sit at the kitchen table and not worry about ruining it.

Pour être honnête envers les clients, j'ai surévalué le produit qui, devrait être de qualité Américaine, ce qui n'est pas le cas, les goupillions pour les chiffons sont en plastiques (alors qu'ils devraient être de qualité en laiton comme sûr la présentation vendeur ) pareil pour les poussoirs de patch d'aspects très fragile.Manque goupillions en nylon, et le principal, comment un produit dit Américain de qualité, ont ne peux obtenir des goupillions de rechange (suite à leurs usure )
