Video highlights of Eric Clapton's live concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London during 1990 and 1991. He is seen here performing three songs with a four piece band, three with a blues band, four with a nine piece band, and three with a full orchestra (The National Philharmonic).

Clapton At His Finest
I saw this DVD reviewed as the best Clapton DVD, and I agree. I expect that this DVD will be used to show future generations how great he has been. This DVD captures him at a point in his career when he had defeated his addiction, had regained and expanded his creative powers and was playing brilliantly, was accompanied by four truly outstanding bands, showcased in the sublime setting of the Royal Albert Hall, and filmed and recorded by a top flight video and audio crew. It's awesome.

E.C. SAY NO MORE BUT....
This could have and should have been a killer release. E.C. collectors know that complete performances of the 4 piece, 9 - 13 piece, the blues shows, and the orchestra performace from these 1990 -91 shows are available in soundboard quility and this dvd release should have featured a complete performace from each of the ensembles that E.C. performed with for this release. Unfortunately someone in E.C.'s inner circle thought other wise and let the bootleggers walk with the money. O well

Poor quality
The concert is fantastic, but the quality of the DVD itself is very poor. The first DVD had two tracks that would not play and was returned. The replacement DVD is even worse with three defective tracks so it is also going back and we have decided not to risk a third. It is disappointing as my husband is a big Clapton fan and this was a gift for him. I know from the reviews that I am not the only one who has experienced this issue. It would be great if the DVD manufacturer would correct this problem so that more people could enjoy a great performance by Clapton.

Poor quality control
So far I'm 0 for 2 with this DVD. The first disc had flaws which caused skips of several minutes, so I called Amazon for a replacement. The second disc has the same flaws: same skips, same places in the program. The manufacturer is producing a flawed product. On the plus side the sound is good on the rest of the program that you can actually watch (those soldano amps, boy do they sound nice), and, of course, it's the legendary EC.I'll probably keep this one but be warned before you order, you're likely to get a defective disc.

Poor quality control
First of all, my low rating has nothing to do with the content of this video. The concert footage of Clapton in his prime is outstanding. The problem is in the manufacturing of the disc. I returned the original disc due to multiple episodes of freezing up during playback. Amazon, as always, took the return without question and sent a replacement dvd. SAME problem, but to a slightly lesser degree. I kept the second disc, but is too bad that there is such poor quality control in the manufacturing process.

Great!!!
I had this on VHS back in the old days. I bought the DVD and was blown away by the sound as well as great performances by Clapton and his band members especially drummer Steve Ferrone now with Tom Petty and the HB's. I have the Bose 5.1 system and just couldnt believe the mix and overall great fidelity. Only bummer is it is in 4:3 but like i said it originally came out on VHS so i guess that was the format then.

Great stuff,despite the sound choice
Don't be put off by the stereo sound. If you have a decent home cinema set up you will just need to crank it up a bit. Yes 5.1 would have been nice, but it's still a great concert.

Worth adding to your collection
Great memories of the one of the concerts I went to in the early 90's. Shame there's not more tracks included. If you enjoy Clapron live it's worth adding this cd to your collection.
