I prefer a cuter design but went with the brown case for my iPad Pro 9.7”. I like having the Apple Pencil well protected, an improvement over the pen loop on my previous case. It is easy to remove the snug fit by pushing the pen out from behind. Though a seldom need, I don’t see a good way to position the case for typing on the screen in landscape mode. Portrait mode is also a challenge . The case went on easily and all the openings allow for good access. This may sound a bit backward but I wish there was more of a case bezel on the face of the iPad. It is a very thin piece holding the tablet in near the home button, volume, and power buttons. Since my iPad already has a bezel there the case would not block anything if it had thicker overlap onto the front of the iPad. I debated getting a case with a keyboard but I have done without for two years and prefer the lighter weight without one as I take this iPad around with me quite a bit. So my choice of this case was determined by the pencil protection, light weight, access to all necessary buttons, a variety of viewing angles and value. Based on those qualities, I am pleased. But I love color, just not this brown....

Used as a cover for my old IPad. Fits perfectly. Is very sturdy and looks good.

The cover looks terrific (it's not real leather :( but the stitching and appearance are sharp); and provides good all-around protection. My IPad Air 2 (A1566) could not fit better. My IPad is too "old" to support the new IPad pencil but my Adonit Pro3 pencil fits perfectly and securely in the slot provided. So much better than having an IPad pencil that slips through (and often out of) a small loop on the outside of your case. I was wary to replace my wonderful leather cover (which had simply worn through on a corner with so much use) but the quality of this product is a nice an welcome surprise. The "catch-in-groove" method of providing viewing angles works well and (unlike my last cover) does not collapse when you type on it. Only down side (probably comes with the protection provided) is that this case is NOTICEABLY heavier than my prior real leather cover. I'll take the extra weight for extra protection. Just hoping the folding magnetic clasp (which for now works great and puts the the IPad instantly to "sleep") does not wear out from constantly opening and closing the fold. At the price -- this is a great deal.
