Improving a very comfortable stay in place headset with increased features and performance value in excess of $100.00!!!
I ordered to replace an on-the-ear Stereo/Microphone Headset that had a repaired/replaced cable that no longer supported the microphone... i.e. Headphone only feature. I also wanted an Over-the-ear Compact Headset that would stay in place and was comfortable for extended use, etc., this headset meets these requirements. The Boom Microphone has little flexibility to re-position or retract and only pivots one-way preventing ambidextrous use to the right side (reversed)! Since the microphone is not Noise-Canceling, Ambidextrous and does not have a Mute function, I decided to remedy these shortcoming features. I wanted a Headset that I could use backwards, which would allow the cable to exit the Headset on my right side for a more direct connection to my computer located on my right side preventing entanglement in the cord-set. The original design only allowed pivoting of the Boom Microphone approximately 100 degrees or only one direction, this was corrected by cutting off/removing the Stop Boss at the pivoting base, which then allowed approximately 300 degrees of rotation. I also noted that there was ample room to install a Mute Switch near the Volume Control for the Headphone Earpiece at the widest part of the ear phone. I selected a low profile easy to Super Glue Gel Mount Slide Switch from my assortment of sample switches with 7/16" mounting depth and 1/4" width, wired with the switch relationship as the Volume Control, On toward Microphone, Mute/Off away! The Boom Microphone is somewhat ridged (not very flexible) and longer then most and ended up being 2 inches away from directly in front of my mouth or 4 inches away if positioned to the side of my mouth, preferred location. I shortened the Boom Microphone by 1.5 inches, which improved the functionally but it was Omnidirectional and not a Unidirectional Noise-Canceling one, so since I had an excellent out of use Boom Microphone by Cyber Acoustics from an AC-401 Headset, 6" long with 100 - 16,000 Hz, 62 BDV/Microbar, 42 DBV/Pascal, that was converted to a Headphone. I adapted the Modified OEM Swivel Microphone Base to the much improved Cyber Acoustics Flexible Noise Canceling Boom Microphone by bonding, molding, custom contour shaping and painted black for a Professional Aesthetic High-Performance Headset! I have fallen asleep and/or napped off using this headset and unlike my other corded headsets and/or wireless headsets it is still in place when I regain consciousness and I do not need to look around for my headset! Noting all of the negative exceptional shortcomings referenced above of the original OEM Headset, which otherwise with the quality of materials, workmanship and performance Headphones is an excellent product for a less then $10.00 Headset Purchase. The basic Headset is suitable for retrofitting the upgrades at no additional cost expenditure for all of the improvements, which the final specification features and aesthetics will rival Headsets in excess of $100.00 in value!

Best Budget Headset Out There!
I ordered this Headset on a budget because my $200 Headset's Mic seems to dislike my computer, as I have had issues with Skype & TeamSpeak3 being able to pick up the Mic. I used to have a Logitech Headset with a pull-down Mic that worked wonderfully with VOIP programs so I decided to looks for something similar. I found this one and after seeing the overall star rating then reading some of the reviews, I decided that $11 was worth it to give it a try. I must say that even I was surprised at the quality of this headset, considering the price. There are pros and cons, but the cons can mostly be overlooked because, I mean, come on, what do you expect for $11, really?PROS:-Plug & Play. Simple to use.-Light-weight, but not flimsy.-Comfortable; Has enough flexibility that it is not tight and fits over ears nicely (I have small ears, though, so if you have larger ears, be cautious)-Best Headset for the price range, hands down.CONS:-The sound quality is a bit lack-luster. Great for VOIP (Skype/TeamSpeak3/Ventrillo) but is very lacking if you want to listen to music or get good sound from a movie/video - Sounds a bit like being in a large bathroom.-The Mic seems to often make you sound like YOU are in a bathroom when using it for VOIP, but this may be dependent on who you are speaking with and if they have heard you before via a different device.-The Mic picks up background noise pretty easily, even from quite a distance, and in any direction.NEITHER PRO NOR CON:-This Headset is not noise-cancelling. Any sounds around you will be nearly as loud and clear while you have this headset on as when you do not.-The adjustments on the headband are bit slippery. They tend to pop out of place with minor pressure and can be a tiny bit of a pain to get back to the way you had them without removing them from your head again, first.OVERALL:I would recommend this Headset to anyone and everyone on a budget. As a matter of fact, I just ordered a second one for my Aunt after she asked about mine, tried them on, and then asked where she could get a pair! You just can't beat these for the price.
