The Happy Lion

Very cute book. Don't want to spoil so stop reading if you don't want particulars....about a lion who experiences a different reaction from the townspeople who visit him everyday while in a cage versus when he accidentally gets out, save one young boy. Think it teaches a great lesson about acceptance and how we can all be prone to intolerance which is born out of irrational fear. Reminds me of Petunia and Veronica books.

I've loved this story since I was a kid, and had to get it for my grandson. I'm sure he'll love it just as much. This is one of those timeless stories that never gets old. Animals and friends. What more could you want?

My son loves lions and in search for lion stories, I came across this book. The Happy Lion is his favorite story now. I recently discovered that the author has more Happy lion stories and ordered more. If you are questioning whether to buy this story, do it.

My kids current favorite book! Such a darling story and the art work is captivating. We love it and enjoy it over and over.

It was wonderful to acquire a copy of a childhood favorite, but the edition is much smaller in size than the originals. Some of the charm of the illustrations is lost in the reduction in size.
