HTC HC M100 Dot View Flip Case for HTC One (M8) (Purple)

It works. The case on the other hand does not give great drop support. I dropped my phone in my bedroom and luck me it was on carpet and my phone stayed in the case and suffered no damage. I then dropped my phone in the kitchen, fell face down and the case detached from my phone and scattered across the floor. I was lucky that my phone suffered no damage. So all and all the DOT View case is just for fun not for protection. I ordered a new "HTC One M8 Case, Spigen® [Non Slip] [AIR CUSHION] and a "PThink 2.5D Round Edge 0.3mm Ultra Slim Nano Tempered Glass Screen protector" and I am not worried about drops anymore but my dodt view is gone, of course.

As most phones' exterior designs are so good, it's a shame to put a case over them (except for Samsung S5 and older with their cheesy plastics). The HTC dot view itself, however, is a great function that makes the case part of the phone. The dot view still works great and the slim case keeps the phone look great. Having been using it for almost a year, I didn't have the problem complained by other users that the cover leaves semi-permanent dot stains on the screen. It's true, however, that the cover would not stay opened without using something to hold it down, or the phone wouldn't stay flat when the cover is flipped to the back. But did I mention how great the dot view look?

The color of the picture vs what is in hand is a bit deceiving. However, even then, this case is not for me. I don't have very much use for the functions that are offered. I would have preferred black, yet would not buy a black one, even if I could sell me current red one for the same purchase price. I find it a chore to hold the cover open, and depends on how long you need out open for. I could have sworn that my arm was tired our even ached a bit for holding the cover open for like 10 minutes. It was a bit uncomfortable, I can tell you that.

I like my case. However, sometimes the dot case can't sense what I am trying to do. But overall it is a good case and would recommend it. I really like the color too. I go the purple and its different from whatever purple case Amazon has online. It looks red int the picture, but it's more like a magenta purple.

I feel the picture on the website isn't a good representation of the (Purple) case. However, I received the package quickly, the case seems like a legit HTC product, and I like the actual mostly purplish color.There are certain features I would like to see in HTC Dot View, as well as inherent flaws in a flip case design, but 5/5 stars as long as it doesn't fall apart after normal use in a short time. I will change my review if the product breaks.

Great deal on this case that's I've wanted for a long time. It hides the aluminum build of the m8 but the case is so comfortable to hold that you won't mind after carrying it around for awhile. I love the features that are activated with the dot view case.Only problem I have is that there isn't much protection for the edges of the phone. For where the phone does cover (corners, front, back) it'll protect from scratches, but doubtfully for any kind of serious fall.

I love the color the I purchased, but my case won't stay closed the way I would like. Still a good buy. I liked my previous gray case. I might just need to break this new one in :)

Works just like advised. Good grip, easy open and close. When close the cover, it shut off the display by itself, very slick. Not as slippy as the full metal body. The display of time and weather is very geeky. This is the best phone case I've ever have. Only wish is to use the camera with lid closed.

This is not an original HTC product, it looks cheap, feels cheap, lid doesn't close properly. Returned....

I bought this case expecting it to appear like in the picture colorwise but it was pink. The case worked great but the colour should have been advertised as deep pink not baton rouge which would imply it to be more of a red colour.

I really don't understand some of the negative reviews about this case, so I thought I'd have my two penn'orth.The hard back of the case, which also covers the corners, and softer rubbery front seem to protect the phone very well. I have managed to drop it a few times with no ill effect, and the cover stays shut and keeps the screen safe. The case is easy to fit and remove - very handy as I have the car cradle as well. While the dot view idea is really a gimmick it is a wonderful gimmick, and means you can see who is calling as soon as you take the phone out of your pocket while it is still protected by the case, as well as seeing and cancelling notifications and alarms, or seeing the time, the temperature or whatever just by pressing the button. The cover also controls the phone's sleep mode, which is excellent, and despite what some other reviewers have said it is very easy and comfortable to have the cover folded behind the phone so it doesn't snap shut - it does sit at a slight angle when on the desk with the cover folded behind, but this can actually be quite handy depending on reflections. I can't imagine how some people claim to have had the case snap shut when they didn't want it to, it's so very simple to use.Apart from the feel of the back of the case, which isn't very pleasing and definitely doesn't shout "quality" like the phone itself does, the only other niggle I have at all is the range of colours that are available. I like purple, so while I wasn't convinced by the look of it on the website I decided to go for it anyway, but really it is more of a deep pink and clashes perfectly with any other purple things I have. All the colours are rather harsh, grey looks dull (again on screen, I haven't met one), black seems like giving in. Considering what a thing of beauty the phone is, it would be lovely to be able to show it off instead of hiding it quite so much, but the features of the case, including the protection, make it well worth having.

Leider hat das Cover nicht die Erwartungen meiner Freundin erfüllt: Eigentlich aus den hier schon oft erwähnten Gründen.Es erschließt sich einem nicht, wie man bei der Umsetzung einer eigentlich tollen Idee so dermaßen bei der Verarbeitung, bzw. beim Handling pfuschen kann, wie hier geschehen:1.) Die Display Abdeckung schließt nicht, bzw. steht im geschlossenen Zustand immer etwas ab.2.) Zum Öffnen braucht man eine Hand, um es auch offen zu halten.3.) Keine Standfunktion fürs Telefon.Wer damit leben kann, bekommt ein innovatives Produkt, dass im Ansatz toll ist, aber im "Handling" meiner Meinung nach versagt. Schade.

Grundsätzlich ist das Cover toll, die Idee innovativ und die Funktionalität super.Zu bemängeln habe ich allerdings die Lieferung des bestellten Covers. Obwohl als Neuware deklariert, bekam ich eine geöffnete und verknickte, wieder mit Tesa zugeklebte Verpackung, die leider nicht, wie angedacht, als Geschenk nutzbar ist. Das Cover wurde ebenso bereits benutzt bzw. ausprobiert. Wäre das ein Warehouse-Deals zum reduzierten Preis, okay, so aber ist das nicht in Ordnung und daher vergebe ich auch nur zwei Sterne, weil ich mich wirklich darüber geärgert habe.
