Multiple people mention the "tabs" for installing it to framing aren't located properly for thicker wallboard/tile so they did something wonky to install it. Install it exactly how the manufacturer tells you to. The GRILL COVER specifically has over an inch of depth and multiple "stops" that let it attach to the box to accommodate various wall thicknesses. The box itself will look like it's recessed "too deep" into the wall compared to traditional rough-ins, but as long as your wall situation is under 1.25" thick the cover will still attach.The tabs on the SIDES are for attaching directly to FRAMING, and you only need to attach 1 of the 2 sides for it to work. The tabs on the TOP are for attaching it to the "wonderbar" they sell that lets you position the box anywhere within the cavity if you can't put it adjacent to a stud.

During my house renovation, I was able to cancel 3 sewer vent pipes and install Studor Air Admittance instead. Everything was made within current codes.The house looks more esthetical without a bunch of pipes sticking from the roof. Eliminated the potential cause of the leaks. Studor Air Admittance gives me convenient access to valves for easy maintenance.

This is one of the many random things that my husband has bought from Amazon and I haven't heard any complaints! Seems to be good quality and doing the trick!

The description is wrong. The threaded part is 1 1/4" in diam. under you can glue 1 1/2 and 1 1/4"
