We had no problems fixing this on to our oblong toilet. Our toilet is only a year old and decided that this toilet seat would help our toddlers be comfortable when using it, and the what I was really sold on was that it lowers very slowly so we don't have to worry any more about our toddler dropping the seat cover down so hard. This Church brand seat is excellent for small children to confidently sit on the toilet besides. They only need to lower the smaller seat and they can comfortably sit on without the fear of falling in. Perfect size for little kids. Overall the construction is excellent, the seat is very comfortable for adults and children, and the finish and look of it is fabulous! Worth every penny. Don't hesitate to buy this.

This product is great. It provides a secure smaller seat for the little ones. It has a special slow close feature. No heavy seat crashing down. The easy on off hinge design is a breeze to clean. If you have small children or grandchildren, I highly recommend this seat. It is a bit more expensive, but I think it is worth the price for the features you get.

This toilet seat is heavy duty, at first i thought it wasn't soft close until i double checked the order.i think it is pretty easy to install, we have 5 adults and one toddler. this thing will last a long time.the toddler seat is easy to remove and has a magnet to hold in place.my wife is requesting for a second one inside our room.Update: the toilet seat broke off at the bottom hinge.

I bought this toilet seat to replace an all plastic one that was broken.We have a potty training toddler so I decided to get the next step seat built in. She was also a factor behind getting the slow close feature.Pros:- Slow close is great when you have kids / dogs / clumsy people around. It is super nice not to have to worry about smashed fingers or loud toilet seat smashing noises.- Easy Clean hinges rock! I can just take the seat off clean each individually and snap it back on super fast!- The shape of the seat really hugs your backside in a good way. Some seats make my legs fall asleep after a few minutes of sitting, but not this one.- The Next-Step toddler seat is great. Our daughter is way more excited about using it because it is already in place and she can flip it down herself without our assistance.Cons:- My biggest issue with the seat when I first got it was that it was slightly less white than the toilet, but I can understand how that is hard to match and I can't fault the product. Also after months of use I no longer notice the color difference at all.- Second the next step seat does not have the slow close function built in. I can also understand why that is the case, but it is something I was not expecting.Notes:- While installing do not be alarmed when the plastic bolts snap. If you read the instructions this is by design to get the correct tightness.- Be sure it is straight when you tighten down those bolts.All in all we love this toilet seat. It feels better and stays cleaner than our old one.

PROS:• helpful tool for potty training — children can pull down small seat by themselves• slow close mechanism means no pinched fingers or loud toilet seat noises (the child seat is not slow close, but it is light plastic (sturdy, but not heavy) so we've never had any issues with it)• sturdy• child seat is attached to the big toilet lid by default (via magnet), but can easily be pulled downCONS:• some wear on toilet seat (scratches — see pictures) where the child seat touches the big seat, since my toddler doesn't sit perfectly still on the seat, but does move around a bit — you can see the wear from the two seats rubbing against each other (wear started to appear after about 6 months of use)• spot/scratch in the paint finish on toilet seat top (after just over 1 year of use)This seat has been the best potty training tool for easy and quick potty trips (of which there are many, when you first begin potty training). It is showing some wear, so once my children are a bit bigger, we will likely replace the seat. However, because of it's awesome functionality, I would still highly recommend this seat.

I had one of these 30 years ago when my daughter was a toddler. It was so convenient not to have one of those horrible potty chairs. Adults can use it without even realizing there is a toddler seat integrated into it. It is wood so it is ok to sit on the cover because it is sturdy, not like plastic. All new parents I have given this to as a gift have liked it

The seat worked great for my potty training toddler for 6 months, until one of the pegs broke on the inset seat rendering it useless.

This toilet seat was easy to install, fit our elongated toilet perfectly, and has been a huge hit with our 3 year old daughter. All 3 components - the "adult" seat, the toddler/potty seat, and the lid - close slowly, so there is no slamming of lids or seats anymore. Previously, we had been using a plastic, removable potty seat with a padded insert. At least every third use urine managed to seep in between the insert and the seat, meaning it would drip when the seat was removed. Yuck! On top of that, my daughter complained that sometimes it pinched her leg. I was concerned with this toilet seat that urine might get underneath the potty seat and could potentially get on an adult's back once the potty seat was in the upright position. That hasn't been a problem, and the entire unit has been easy to keep clean. Pinching is no longer an issue, either. Well worth the investment!

Great product, good product with magnet to keep kids seat up when not used.

We purchased two of these seats for our house with two young children. They work great for the kids to use the toilet. However, shortly after a year the slow-close hinges on both broke within a couple weeks of each other. Called the Bemis about it and was told that basically there was nothing they could do. Now after close to two years, one of the wood seats has a crack right through. Not sure how long they think a toilet seat should last... but i don't really expect that I should need to replace my toilet seat every two years.The functionality of the seat is great... just poor quality, so be cautious about buying this.

Great quality, works well and the soft close lid is a must

I have had these since 2018. These are so great to help little ones transition to the big toilet. The soft close feature broke after a couple of years, we took it apart to repack it with the grease but unfortunately they have made it so it is not user serviceable. Then we tried to locate a new hinge kit but Bemis chooses not to sell replacements, instead recommending you purchase an entirely new seat. This to me just promotes wastefulness and it is frustrating that I can't just fix such a small issue. The seat is wooden and heavy and I do not like that it slams now. If this were not an issue it would be a 5 star review.

product is exactly as described. Only thing was at first the seat kept popping off as the hinges were very tight. after they loosened up a bit it works great. Piece of advice though, lots of pee on the adult seat after the kid uses the kid seat.
