A fine collection of fun stories
I purchased this book when I was back in Scotland in 2010 and have just re-read some of the stories, which has prompted this review. Scotland is a land full of myths and legends of witches, merfolk and monsters and this book does a good job in recounting tales that have been passed down the generations. The book is split into section including witches, heroes and fair maids, legendary figures and visitors to the fairy realm and is a delightful collection of stories to read just for fun.

Simple Stories with Little Embellishment
This is a comprehensive set of myths and legends, but they are very simply written with no embellishment or character.
