The switch in the photo is not the switch I received...
...but it works. The switch in the photo has terminals that align with the long axis of the switch, which is the configuration of the switch I was trying to replace on my old Shop Vac. The switch I received has the terminals aligned 90 degrees to those in the photo. However, looking at the tiny lettering of both switches, I translated 1.1/1.2/2.1/2.2 on the old switch to 1a/1b/2a/2b on the switch I got, hooked up the connectors, crossed my fingers, and plugged it in. Voila! Works like a charm. As an added bonus, the new switch clipped neatly into the slot on my Shop Vac, and I was able to reinstall the oval red cover over it with zero issues. Had I known all that, I could have bought an identical switch to the one I received for less than half the price of this one...available through several Amazon sellers....hence 4 stars instead of 5. Lesson learned.

Works for Shop Vac QSP Pro 10 Gallon Vacuum
The power switch on my trusty 10 gallon Shop Vac (model QPL30) broke. This switch was a perfect replacement. It took 15 minutes to install and now it works like new. You have to remove the filter from the motor housing and I needed a long torx 20 bit to remove the screws to open up the housing. There are four wires that connect to the switch. Take a picture before disconnecting so the reconnecting process mirrors how it was.

Broke after a few uses - beware
Switch broke after less than 10 uses. It will not stay on unless you hold constant pressure on it. Something broke inside. Can’t recommend this at all.

Easy install.
Easy to install, although the electrical terminals ( spades ) faced in a different direction than the original and required minor trimming of the vacuum's housing to fit. Works well.

These switches are not engineered appropriately.
The quality of the switch is subpar. I previously purchased the same switch about six months ago and it failed. When I took apart the shop vac, the switch looked like it had melted. This time I purchased two switches at the beginning of October and they arrived on October 9, 2025. I installed the first switch a couple of days later. The switch failed on October 19th. I haven’t dismantled the vacuum yet but I would not be surprised to see that this one has melter too. If you’re wondering why I purchased two more when the first one failed, I am wondering why too. I would say that I gave them the benefit of the doubt but thought I’d buy two in case the first failed and then I wouldn’t have to pay shipping again. If anyone knows where else I can purchase the switches in Canada, please reply below.
