If you are looking for something to get your feet wet, you might want to check this out.
If you need an editing program for starters, this might suit your needs. As a struggling musician who owns an Apple computer, I don't have much to choose from in regards to good programs that can suit a basic need since Apple doesn't have much of anything on the market besides Garage Band and I don't get that on my laptop so.... I found this editor and I use it to record and edit sounds and all sorts of things for my audio. It works for me. It's simple to use and doesn't take too much effort to really understand how it works. Simple and quick set up. The bad reviews are probably high-enders who should stick to Fruity Loops and the like if they want something better.*NOTE* Also, you might want to download the free link first for the demo, then buy directly from them! It is only $39.99 instead of $57 on Amazon. ;)

Absolutely unforgivably bad software
This software is extremely buggy, crash prone and excruciatingly slow. It is incapable of handling even a modest amount of full HD 1080p 60fps video from a home video camera. At first it will seem to work okay (which is why I paid to register it), but after about 10 or 15 minutes of HD video is added to a project the software starts to become very unstable. One really problematic problem is that suddenly any of audio tracks from my my HD video camera's video files will become extremely distorted. So far the only way I have been able to work around this issue has been to uninstall VideoPad and then reinstall it in hopes of rectifying the audio issue. But even this effort works only for a limited period of time before all the audio becomes corrupted again.I know every software software company wants to blame the hardware (I develop applications) so I will say up front that I am using this software on a Lenovo ThinkPad W520 running Windows 7 Professional (64bit). It has an Intel Core i7-2760QM processor, 8GB of RAM and a NVIDIA Quadro 1000M video card. My system far exceeds anything required to run this software. All Windows updates have been applied as have all Lenovo software and driver updates. I have tried using both VideoPad v3.02 and the beta version v3.04. Both are equally problematic in different ways.I'm only keeping this software on my computer long enough to try and render out the video from what I've completed on the project I'm working on (two 10 minute clips) and then I will ditch this software in favor of something else.Do yourself a favor and find different video editing software. I know I regret having ever stumbled across this software.

Good basic video editor - but no technical support
When I first used this program I had a difficult time getting started, but after viewing the NCH video tutorial I quickly grasped the basics of the program. I would give this program five stars for its simplicity and user interface (once you get used to it), but there are some issues that caused me to downgrade the rating to two stars. When I was exporting a 30-minute video (with about a dozen edits), the export stalled at the last 12 seconds after nearly an hour of video rendering. This happened three times. I contacted technical support which automatically sent me to a support page which ultimately prompted me to upload the relevant video project files and video. I uploaded the files via FTP as instructed. A week later I found my files still sitting their FTP server (never downloaded from their server) and no response from technical support. Seems like they never took a look at the files. In spite of this, I was able to eventually create my video by starting over and making small incremental edits and then exporting to see what might be causing the export to hang. After doing this I was able to create the video. If you buy this program don't expect to get any technical support. This is what soured me about the program. I usually don't need technical support from software manufacturers, but when they offer it, I expect it to be there.Regarding making subtitles, the process is cumbersome and tedious. You have to save each subtitle as a separate file. I found it easier to create subtitles by just creating a text clip which doesn't require making a separate file, by using the add text function. On the downside, there are few options for positioning the text, basically 9 positions but no ability to tweak the positions, unless you want to create a subtitle file. The online help file is not searchable, which makes it very difficult to use. The table of contents for the search topics is not especially helpful. As such it is of very little use. Ultimately I found I could get better help by looking a YouTube videos from people who had made their own tutorials.NCH tends to nag about up-selling you to their other products. I also wonder how private my personal information is.On the plus side, the quality of the video rendering is fairly good. I also use Sony Vegas Movie Studio, Avidemux, and VirtualDub. The later two programs are free open-source programs. So though I am generally pleased with the program for basic video editing, I gave the software a lower rating because there is basically no technical support, the online help is not searchable, and the company nags its customers trying to up-sell to other products.

only works for windows 7 or under
This disk is only good for windows 7 and under, according to the installation. I have windows 10 and it can't be installed. The product description does not state this. Seeing that I can't install it, I can't review the product, although the demo I have is quite good.

Most easiest video editing software.
The media could not be loaded. I am editing all my videos with 'Video Pad Editor' for my you tube channel "Debasish Travel Video". Every type of video you can easily edit with video pad editor software as an you tuber. This software is very helpful to any video editor. So, I love this brilliant software.
