Works like a charm
These lids are awesome, super easy to use and made some out of this world kraut. Just beware: they will not trap the natural gasses produced by fermentation (they shouldn't if they're doing the job right) and fermentation WILL stink up your house, inevitably. Kraut especially will smell like rotten garbage for the last week or two, and anyone who visits, if you have a ~700 sq ft home without the best ventillation, will wonder where the dead rat is.Don't worry, that's normal, and you'll have incredible probiotic foods afterwards that are perfectly healthy & tasty. Nothing has necessarily gone wrong in the process (check for mold, ofc), and when you actually *open* your kraut, at the end of its fermentation cycle, the cabbage itself should smell just fine. There's no real funk to the actual food - just the outgassing of its preparation. Alas. When you finally get to eat it, you will know it was worth the 40 minutes of pummeling cabbage into a liquidy brine with your bruised knuckles and suffering dead-rat-in-a-wet-trenchcoat stench for weeks on end.Still, to mitigate this situation, you may want to think about finding a climate-stable place to put it outside? Or a dedicated, ventillated fermentation/grow room. Love these lids, though; they really do improve the whole process immensely - losing a batch of kraut after all that due to failure of sealing method would be both heartbreaking and enraging so using these anaerobic lids as precaution is pretty much essential, as I see it.Make sure the brine (liquid) covers all the vegetation - use a weight. Try to keep your pieces large enough so you don't run into troublesome "floaters" - particulates that escape out from under the weight and bob up to the surface like a little mould island. Lost one batch to such nonsense. Luckily, one head of cabbage will make at least 2 big mason jars of kraut.

A beautiful product that really does the work
I'm impress with the quality of the jars, proudly made in US, the lids are also high quality and they perform just perfect, and super easy to use and maintain. The packaging is high quality as well, and protected the product so nicely. Highly recommended

Very wonderful product
Got this tops to be able to ferment vegetables for kimchi mainly but will also be using for fermenting hot peppers. The tops are very easy to clean and attach to the mason jars. They have 4 protruding points on the top to make it easier to unscrew them when under pressure when fermenting which works well. I have made 2 kimchi batches so far. The second batch ended up fermenting vigorously in the jars, that it made some of the liquid leak though the gas release part of the lid. This may be due to not compacting the kimchi as much as possible because I have been using my hands for that. I just received something that will help me to compact the kimchi more and better. So will see how it going. When it comes to removing the air when you seal the jars, the pump work well. You can actually see the air movement when pumping the air out. All in all a great product. I have actually ordered and received a second set, so that I can do more fermentations because I was using all or had one left during my kimchi batches and needed more so that I will be able to do more at the same time.

A great buy for the money
Super simple to use. It’s also oddly fun to use! Have bought a second set because I loved the first one so much. The only improvement I’d make would to be to add the year to the lid. It has a date option, but only month and day. A spot for year (even just writing it in) would be so helpful!

So far so good!
This product is very easy to use. Definitely two pumps is all you need like it says in the directions. I really like that the company contacted me when I got the product to ensure it didn’t come damaged which it did not. They also contacted me again to make sure I was happy with the product and I am so far. I just fermented hot peppers to make hot sauce. I will update again when the fermenting process is done in a couple weeks.UPDATE: my hot sauce came out great! I highly recommend this product!

Good quality lids that you can trust for your fermentation
I have been using another brand of fermentation lids for a while (no complaints about those), but I needed more lids, so I thought I would give these a try, as the cost was considerably less. I was prepared for the possibility of a "get what you pay for" lesson, but as it turns out, I am very impressed with the quality of these lids. They are extremely well made, and fit my fermentation jars perfectly, and the valves hold a vacuum very well. The pump that comes with them really pulls a vacuum (one pull is usually enough), and in case you are wondering, the pump is compatible with the other brands of lids, and vice versa. Next time you need fermenting lids, you would be well advised to get a set of these Robley lids. 4 lids and a pump of this quality for $13 --- yeah, I'll be back for more.

Keeps the mold out
These lids are great for fermenting. So far I have tried sauerkraut, salsa, carrots, cucumbers, and beet kvass. However, one of my lids arrived without the valve, so it's useless. I didn't realize this until today and I can no longer return the item.
