Cleaned thinset mortar off Trex AMAZING!
First, follow the directions and it works amazing! I retiled my outdoor kitchen and let’s just say I’m not the neatest person when I’m in project mode. I used this for two things - first I mistakenly got mortar on the front of the porcelain tiles and did not get it cleaned off. Because this is a weekend project, the tile sat with mortar on the surface for a week. Sprayed this stuff on the mortar, let it set, sprayed again, then scrubbed with a steel stripping brush and voila! Clean tiles! Secondly, we have a composite deck and I got mortar and grout on the deck. I scraped all the chunks off, then sprayed this and used a normal scrub brush and it cleaned up fantastic!!My only problem is with Sakrete - I paid $30 for a bottle and not 5 days later, the price has shot up to $41!!! Stuff works great, but don’t pay the price on Amazon. Grainger, Walmart, or Family Hardware has it cheaper!

The shawshank tunnel!
Here is a different story of how this stuff worked for me. I was installing a new bathroom in the basement of my daughters house. We tore out concrete, installed new plumbing, new sewer, poured the concrete back, and started building the bathroom. During this time we had moved the floor drain, and the best location was in the bathroom corner. This was the drain for the whole basement. We installed a new 2" PVC floor drain with a p-trap and clean out. So the bathroom was all done with new walls and shower. The only thing left to do was install the tile, then we could put in the sink and toilet. Well the concrete was very uneven from the previous floor drain. So the plan was to pour in some self leveling floor leveler first. Then install the tile. I had it all ready to go, and my friend decided to help me out and pour the leveler while I was at work. We'll he didn't cover the new floor drain, and the leveler completely filled the drain and hardened over night. So now I have no drain. I called a few plumbers and they said tear out the concrete and replumb the drain. ..I did not want to do that. I tried to break some of it out but the p-trap was full. I was very frustrated to say the least! Then my friend mentioned concrete dissolver. I was skeptical for sure. I never heard of it.So I sprayed this in the drain and let it sit overnight. When I came back, I took a tool and found the leveler had dissolved about 1/8" . So I tried it again and it seemed to be working. I started to squirt some in the clean out, and then vaccuum it out the next day. Well I knew this would take some time but I wasn't in a hurry. So after a month of spraying and vacuuming, I kept saying this was just like the Shawshank Redemption. A little bit of concrete every day until I tunneled my way through. And yes I got completely through that drain. So this product did work for me. It will dissolve concrete and wash away.

Works on mortar
I was skeptical that this would work I had old mortar on top of River pebbles I soaked the spray for 30 mins and used a bristle brush and it came off I repeated this process twice and the mortar is gone without the harsh chemicals that are usually used for this type of project.I am extremely impressed with this product it works !

Didn't work. Unsure if recipe change or expired product
Crap. Barely works. Used to be good, used to be green liquid. This arrived yellow. Unsure if it was old/expired or they changed the recipe.

Well, it’s not like the video...
I really, really wanted this to be a five star review. I saw a YouTube video where a guy sprayed this on a metal sheet with concrete splatter, waited about 15minutes and then hosed it down. The concrete started peeling off with minimal effort and a brush of his hand. That’s what I wanted. What I got was this: I sprayed it on, waited about 15 minutes and then I scrubbed and scrubbed. I sprayed again and scrubbed with a nylon brush. I sprayed again and scrubbed some more. Little pieces came of quickly but the bulk of the splatter was still there. I sprayed again (down to half the bottle now) and started scraping with a putty knife. The photo was taken before I went to the putty knife. Here are a few things to know: 1. It comes in a plastic bottle and despite the packing efforts it will leak a little. Packing was as good as can be expected but open your box and package outside when it comes. 2. Wear rubber gloves when you use it. I’m a man and don’t believe in reading instructions. After rubbing it with my unprotected hands for a while, it started to really irritate my skin. Ouch. 3. Read the instructions carefully and follow them. Yes, it’s a “natural” product but it potent. 4. Use it outside or in a well ventilated area so you don’t breath the fumes. 5. It’s not a spray on and hose off product. It takes lots and lots of elbow grease. 6. If concrete is on a painted surface, it WILL remove the paint as well as the concrete. 7. It worked...sort of. It’s better than scraping dry concrete off with a chisel. All in all I wasn’t disappointed but I wasn’t enamored. Maybe I dint get what I expected because my surface was painted. Maybe I didn’t act soon enough after the splatter got on the door to get it off. (It happened about a month and a half ago). Maybe I just had unreal expectations. In any case, I’d use it again but I will be prepared for some hard work.
