Awesome product! Recommend highly for open carry or concealed carry!
When receive your holster the first thing you need to do is break it in with some good leather oil and start flexing the leather by hand. After that put your pistol in the holster over night. Repeat for a couple days. Practice drawing from your holster after those couple days. This helps the breaking in process as well as helping build your muscle memory in the process of drawing using your birdie finger to disengage lock while pulling your weapon up all in one smooth, quick motion! The holster will fit your gun like a glove in the end and you will become very quick at drawing your weapon! It will seem as if the holster has no locking retention mechanism on it after you practice drawing from it! I absolutely love this holster. Will have one for every pistol I own eventually! Remember to treat it like your weapon. Get to know it and practice often so it is only muscle memory and second nature to draw and fire your weapon effectively, safely, and quick!

It is perfect for plain clothes
I have this in black, but needed a tan one to match wardrobe considerations. It is perfect for plain clothes, open carry, duty and provides retention while easy to clear leather when needed. You need to practice with this holster in all positions so you can get it when you need it. The quality, finish and required retention is excellent. I purchased the holster for a Glock 22. But, it fits the G23, G27, G17, G19 and G26. This ingenious design locks in all these models. The only difference is the G22 and G17 muzzle extends to the bottom end of the holster. The muzzle of the shorter models recess further up into the holster. The grip does not go further down. This holster fits all these models and still gives you retention. Good luck and stay safe.

Great owb holster
I purchased this to carry my glock 22 as I don't like carrying it iwb. I'm not a big guy but I do have a little bit of love handles and have found this to be extremely comfortable. For me it is most comfortable at the 3 or between the 3 and 4 o'clock position. At first it the retention system was a bit weird as it requires the used of my middle finger but after some time spent practicing my draw it has become second nature and I don't even think about it. Additionally, it seems to leave my trigger finger ready to go.The quality of the leather seems to be very good and I haven't seen any defects. The firearm fits snugly and draws smoothly.I carry it concealed under a shirt or a jacket and have found that unless the shirt/jacket is very short the bottom of the holster cannot be seen unless I put my arms straight up.I highly recommend this holster to someone who is looking for a great owb holster.

The best mechanical retention concealment holster out there
This is the second Bianchi 82 Carrylok I'm purchasing, this time for the Glock line. I have been using this holster to carry my duty M9 Beretta for the past five years. It has proven to be an exceptional holster over the years. It is in generally the same condition as the day I bought it.On coloring: My old carrylok holster was in black and there was some color transfer to my clothing after extended use. It did wash out, but if you plan on wearing it with a $600 suit, you might want to be cognizant of this. Also, for my glock, I purchased the tan holster, which is significantly lighter in color that the darker brown holster currently depicted as "tan" on the product page. This isn't a huge deal for me, but for the fashion-oriented gun-toters, know that it is not the ox blood brown that appears in the picture. The holster itself is amazing and Bianchi must have a very broad patent on their carrylok feature because I have yet to find another leather concealment holster that has any sort of mechanical retention. I won't delve to deeply into the retention vs. non-retention debate, but I will say that I am a strong believer in making it as difficult as possible to 1) accidentally drop your gun (seen it happen numerous times) and 2) have your gun taken from you while fighting on the ground or otherwise. There are plenty of tragic stories out there to justify both concerns. In my opinion, it is important to have a retention system that is maximally difficult for bad guys to figure out, while still facilitating an easy draw from various angles by the user. Honestly, I think safariland (who also apparently owns Bianchi) has the best system available in a few of their hard holsters for this, and it is what I use for my tac gear. However, the carrylock 82 can be strapped very close to the body maximizing concealment. I believe anyone eyeballing this holster, especially the brown one, won't have a very difficult time figuring out how the retention works. And this is where the safariland gains points in my book. That aside, the retention is very effective and I believe so long as your badguy hasn't been studying your holster prior to a fight, they will have a difficult time figuring it out while they are hopefully being choked out.I have no difficulties performing injured officer drills with my support hand using this holster. I can draw from across the front and back of my body, and also holster using only my support hand. This isn't nearly as easy with the Blackhawk Serpa line of holsters. If there is a way to do it, I still haven't figured it out.As with any new holster, a considerable amount of practice is advised. If you've spent years with a holster using a different type of retention, or none at all, I'd advise you draw your pistol at least once or twice every night before going to bed until it becomes muscle memory.

Best holster to retain a sidearm!
Very durable. Great for conceal carry. No worries about losing my weapon unlike many other holsters that are no more than a sock that are unreliable.

Great holster
At first it was a very tight fit and hard to get my gun out. After a day or so It was pretty easy to unholster. Classy holster. Keeps your gun nice and tight to the hip and is hardly noticeable under a larger shirt.

Good, but not great.
I bought this for my Gen 4 Glock 17. It is made with good quality materials. The leather takes quite some time to break in and you need to be sure that you are ready to use the locking system. This is something that you need to unload your weapon and get used to drawing your weapon in and out because it could become a very dangerous situation if you aren't used to it and your finger drifts into the trigger well. I wouldn't reccomend this holster for concealed carry at all. Although it does ride snug against your body the locking system tends to push the grip of the weapon out if you aren't regularly checking the placement on your hip. Would be a holster better suited for a more professional wardrobe such as a suit or loose fitting shirt. But if you're one of those wanna be LEO's who carries around your CCW badge on your belt then this is probably the holster that will make you look close enough.
