What a difference in temperature!
I just moved my office to my home and even before spring got here I could tell that the sun was going to kill me during my work hours. I was sweltering when it was still only in the 40's or 50's outside. I finally broke down and ordered this to put up (I was actually nervous at a difficult installation) and did it without any difficulties at all. Just use a LOT of soapy water (I put a couple drops of Dawn dishsoap in a spray bottle of water) on the window, the back of the film, and then on the front of the film after it is attached to the window, then using a rubber squeegee from the middle outward, get all the excess water and bubbles out. Voila! Perfect. Now, for the results: today is a very sunny day and my east-facing windows are cool as can be! I am not in the least too warm when just a day ago I'd be unable to work comfortably because of the heat. Great product! One thing to note: be sure to get ALL of the excess water/bubbles out before it dries or it will develop bubbles after drying. To fix that though, you can just pull off the window and respray and apply.

Privacy achieved-- and I can see outside!
A neighbor has this on all her patio windows and showed it to me. It's terrific. If you're inside looking out (during the day), it's like there's nothing there. If you're OUTSIDE looking in, it's pretty much like you are looking at a mirror! At night -- with the lights on inside -- people outside can see in, so keep that in mind and think about closing your drapes! But that's as advertised. I was so impressed I got one sheet for 1/2 of my sliding patio door setup and I just can't rave enough about how WONDERFUL it is! Relatively easy to install BUT I STRONGLY reccommed 2 people for installing, and be sure you follow the instructions EXACTLY and use a squeegie and soapy water. I LOVE this product and will likely get another one for the other side of my slider. Now I can sit and watch the birds at my patio bird-feeder and they can't see me! So pleased!!

Easy to install
Not only is my house cooler, but this was so easy to install. I live in the depths of hell in the summer and having a small window air conditioner for the whole house just doesn’t cut it. After installing the window tint, our house has been much cooler and comfortable. I like that the film is vinyl because it made it a lot easier to install and if I made a mistake it wasn’t detrimental. I recommend having someone help you peel off the backing but it’s not necessary.

Work very well for not being a professional install
These were not that hard to install, if you follow instructions and take your time they can look very good. My pictures show during daytime you cannot see inside, and you can see outside with minimal visual distortion. I did not take night pictures, but at night you can see inside. The only downside to these is that looking from inside to the outside at night seemed very poor. This is what I found to work best for install. If you have plenty of material left over after cutting out what you need, use some of the excess to practice with.1. Get a good squeegee - I got this one EHDIS Small Squeegee 5 inch Rubber Window Tint Squeegee for Car, Glass, Mirror, Shower, Auto,Windows2. Thoroughly clean your windows. Don't just wipe them down, clean them. Clean them a few times.3. Measure the glass you want to cover, then add at least a half inch to each edge. So if your window is 20" wide, you want at least 21" of material or more.4. Cut your material to the amount you just figured out.5. Make a spray bottle of soapy water. Don't go crazy with the soap, just a drop or two is plenty.6. Spray your window so that every inch is wet and the water is dripping down - you cannot get it too wet.7. Peel the plastic protective sheet off the film.8. Spray the cling side of the film (the same side that had the protective plastic) with your soapy water.9. Give another couple sprays to the window, especially the top edge if your water has dripped down.10. Place the film onto the window so that the edges overlap the window. The film will automatically cling to the window and some of the soapy water will go away. You can adjust the position of the film as necessary to get the edges overlapping.11. Use the squeegee ONLY in a small section of the center of the window - DO NOT wipe to the edges. This will help the film stay in place while you cut it to fit. You do not want to squeegee to the edges because you still need the soapy water to help the edges stick after you get the film trimmed to size.12. Use a sharp hobby/exacto knife to cut the film. Push the film down so that it gets as far into the corner of the glass and the frame as possible. I found it easier to start from the middle and work my way into the corners. Go VERY SLOW! A nice slow cut will help you cut straight. I also found it helpfull to cut an entire sliver off, and not just to the corner of the window.13. Once you have it completely trimmed, use the squeegee starting from the center of the window and work your way to the outside edges. Do it multiple times, even if it looks like the soapy water is gone.14. If you have any edges that are not sticking, gently pull the edge back far enough that you can spray more soapy water in there, then use the squeegee again.

Love this! Cuts down on light very easily
People who don’t like this product or say it’s hard to install don’t have patience or don’t read the instructions. This is so easy and blocks out so much light. I live in the southwest with a ton of south facing single pane windows in an old house. This cuts so much light that my husband asked when the clouds started rolling in. Patience, soapy water in a spray bottle, a box cutter, and an old gift card is all you need. No need to buy a squeegee or anything else. I’ve done this on two massive windows and plan to do it on the sliding glass doors and one more. Seriously, don’t believe the reviews that say it is too hard to install.

Works really well
Definitely use lots of soapy water, it helps to ensure a good adhesion. Used on upper half of my smaller 15 x 15 kitchen window that gets direct sun around 4 in the afternoon. Took about 35 minutes start to finish and I did a pretty good job. I used a Credit Card to get the bubbles out and that worked relatively well. It is quite a difference. Only time will tell if it makes a difference in terms of heat, but it definitely cut the sun by 50%.

Disappointing
More plastic sheet than an actual film... I needed it to match other mirror films I already got and it's totally different quality. Very poor mirror effect as well.

Great product.
Works great. Definitely did the trick to blocking out most of the sun. Hubby is a pro so installation was easy. Packaged well.

Difficult product
All instructions were followed. Purchased to use on sliding door to my back deck. It was very difficulty to install. It took 4 people and it was still extremely difficult. It has lots of bubbles in certain areas (doors were cleaned). It is difficult to get a straight cut, would be nice if it had grid cut lines on the backing. It looks ok in the day, but at night you see all the imperfections. I wouldn't recommend for large projects. Maybe for smaller windows. NOTE AT NIGHT PEOPLE FROM OUTSIDE CAN SEE DIRECTLY IN YOUR HOME. You will still need curtains for privacy at night.
