Best iron I have ever owned.
I looked at several cordless irons, both cheap and expensive, and read every review for each. I finally decided on this Sunbeam Cordless/Corded Iron because every negative review I read for every cordless iron I found said the same thing... Cordless irons lose heat very fast. So, I figured this was the best way to get the best of both worlds - Cordless for a quick press during a sewing project and corded when I need to press a full garment.Once I used this iron for the first time, I realized a few things. First, I made the right choice. This iron is light and easy to use whether it is attached or detached from the charging base; this iron heats up faster and hotter than asphalt in Arizona at noon in August and I must be the only person who places their cordless iron back on the charger while I am adjusting and arranging the garment I am ironing. What I mean by that is, I don't understand the negative reviews. How does one iron an entire shirt without having to put their iron down and if you are putting it down, why can't you just put it on the base to let it re-heat? It only takes 10 or 15 seconds if the temp is set to cotton and less at a lower temp. I did a little experiment - I timed how long it took for the iron to lose heat while in cordless mode. At lower temps - like synthetics - it took about 30 seconds before the warning light flashed. At higher temps - like cotton and linen - it took a minute or more before the warning light flashed. After returning the iron to the recharging base, it took less than 15 seconds to regain the original temp and be ready to use again at all temps. So, one can easily iron a section of a garment, place the iron on the base, adjust the garment to a new section and continue ironing again at a comfortable pace without a lot of delay. However, if that isn't how you iron, simply lock the charging base to the iron and you can iron non-stop without any heat loss at all. Personally, I have used mine cordless more often than not.If you are looking for a cordless iron, but you aren't sure it will work for you, try the Sunbeam Cordless/Corded Iron. It is a bit more expensive than a basic iron, but it is worth every extra penny. It is lightweight, easy to use, well made, easy to fill, easy to clean, does an excellent job and you can't beat the versatility of being able to use it cordless, corded or even as a vertical steamer.

Heats up fast, turns off completely without unplugging.
This replaced a more expensive brand that did last me eight or nine years. I’m a quilter/sewer and I use my iron a lot. This one heats fast and all lights go out when turned to off. I’m very pleased with it.

Decent iron
I’ve had the iron for a day or two now and it’s ok for the price. It’s not to heavy when held. It’s easy to put water in it. The features seem to work, although I’m not sure if the “clean” button does anything. When using the “spray” button, the spray feature worked just fine, but the iron leaked a little when moving the iron from a horizontal to vertical position. To heat the iron you must place it on its docking station while the docking station is plugged in. A light on the iron blinks red when it needs to be placed on the docking station and turn green when it’s ready to use. I will update my review if needed later on.

THE BEST IRON I HAVE EVER OWNED!!!
I am old school and I iron everything. So I have owned a fair share of irons that were not so great. This iron is awesome! Just what I have always needed. Sits in base and heats. Lifts out easily. Light weight but not too light weight. Has every setting needed. The settings are true to the heat settings.I use antibacterial spray starch on my scrubs for work and the surface of the iron does not stick or gather residue and discolor like many irons that I have owned in the past. Also if you want the base can lock on and you can use it as a corded iron for heavier projects if needed, but I have not found the need to be honest. This iron makes me happy. Silly, I know, but when you iron every day or every few days it is this type of quality product that can make your life a little less hectic. I like the light weight part of it for extended ironing days but some irons are so light weight they have no substance...this iron is the perfect balance.I highly recommend it!!!(And NO...I did not get paid for this review...I really like the iron : )

Love my iron and great price!
Love my iron and will never go back to using a corded one!! Now I read tons of reviews on all kinds of different cordless irons and held off on getting one for a few weeks but then decided to go for this one since the price was great. I’m so glad I did. Now I don’t iron every single day and it’s not something that I do as part of my craft or job but I do iron when needed which is more than a few times a week. I’m able to iron one side of a shirt and when it’s time to flip it over I simply place it back on the dock, fix my shirt, then iron and I have no issues with it at all. Same with jeans, I can iron one side of one leg, place it on the dock then iron the other side…works perfectly! If you have to constantly iron large pieces of materials then I can see where it can get a little annoying but I mean it’s a cordless iron and needs to recharge. In my opinion the recharge only takes about 8-10 seconds and then it’s ready again. This is a regular size iron and not travel size. Highly recommend!

Game changer
UPDATE: Almost a tear into using, the only issue I've encountered is that it can short circuit your panel due to friction when returning the iron to the base. I ended up keeping it wired for safety reasons.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I decided to go with cordless after doing some initial research, including watching YouTube videos. The key to success here is making sure you understand how cordless irons work. Unlike cordless vaccums, there isn't a battery that just keeps it going. You should put it on the charging base in between shifting the clothes while ironing (like when you move the shirt or pants around or turn it over) or it will lose the necessary heat level. That being said, the need to dock as a tradeoff for the ease of manipulating a cordless iron is acceptable. The iron remains hot for a decent time and gets hot fast enough by the time I've shifted my clothes. Will not go back to a corded iron again.
