I got one of these bumpers for my full-sized bed when my son was about 8 months old. We ended up co-sleeping and I was always afraid he’d roll out (and he DID once). I ended up putting it on my side of the bed and used my old pregnancy pillow as a bumper for his side.Fast forward a couple years… he’s now 2.5 and *still* in bed with me, but he’s huge now and that darn pregnancy pillow takes up so much room. Decided it was time to put another one of these on his side and it’s perfect! It took about 12-18 hours to fluff up to full size after unwrapping it (not 72 hours like they say). I put these under my sheet and waterproof mattress protector. It sits on top of a foam mattress topper I have. Occasionally they slide around but nothing too obnoxious…. I just bump it back into place. I was worried it would take up too much space with two of them, but it really doesn’t. If nothing else, they’re so comfy! I end up draping my leg over the one on my side, and he sometimes puts his head or arm up on his, like a pillow. Ever since putting them on, he’s had ZERO falls. If he thrashes around at night, they gently remind him to stay in bed. My favorite thing is that they’re sooooooo long and reach the entire length of the bed; other brands I tried were about 6-8” too short and looked funny.I’ve even put them on a twin-sized mattress on the floor before and it made a little cocoon for him. I’ll probably get another set to use on his own bed someday.Edited to add: I forgot to mention how well they hold up! I’ve had the first one I ordered for almost 2 years. I’ve sat right in the middle of the bumper on the side of my bed many nights bouncing my son to sleep, it’s still in perfect shape. No indents!Highly recommend!! My golden retriever sleeps on top of my bed which I happen to love. The very night that I was pondering whether I should purchase a bed rail for his safety he took a tumble onto the floor while in a deep sleep. Fortunately, he was not hurt but it settled the debate about buying something to prevent another fall. The winning feature of this product IMO is that I can leave it in place 24/7 while Murphy is able to get on and off the bed at will. At the same time, were he on the bed sleeping it provides a sufficiently elevated “mound” along the edge of the bed that prevents him from rolling onto the floor when sleeping soundly. The product arrives compressed in a small box but once released from the wrapping will regain its shape within 48 hours. It stays in place thanks to the material on the bottom and is further secured by placing it under the bed’s fitted sheet. Such a great idea, too, for parents with little ones as there is no rail to impede a hug or good night kiss when putting their child to bed. It will prevent the youngster from falling out of bed while allowing them to safely and easily climb over it if they need to get out of bed. A wonderful product!

Kept my toddler from rolling off his bed

I was looking for a full length rail that was also "tall", anything higher than the 4.5 inches that seems to be the standard. This rail was definitely longer which is great! But the advertised height is incorrect. Actual height is 4.5 inches (noted on box, and I measured after about an hour). Probably not a deal breaker for most people though. Even though it was only 0.5 inch difference, the slightly higher rail was one of the reasons I purchased this particular rail. Otherwise, cover is soft. The rail has plenty of those little rubber dots on the bottom and a few across the top of the cover. The dots help it stay in place quite well even when placed on top of the fitted sheet. The foam is basic, nothing special. The foam is firm, I think more firm than a sofa or seat cushion.
