This was super cute for my 4 year old son and 8 year old daughter to fight over (haha). I like that it has 3 "hatching" opportunities (as you need to rub three separate hearts to hatch three separate hatchimals in different compartments). There is also a cardboard scene to put together (easy enough for my 4 year old - who also loved adding the stickers to the scene). I like the "snow globe" feel to the scene after you're finished - and how you can open it back up again to play with the hatchimals. This would be great to pack on a trip as it's compact (although larger than I expected!) with a lot of imaginative play value. I added photos with the 6 possible sets - fuzzy, neon, shimmery pearl, glittery, glow-in-the-dark, and scented. We got the scented and it smelled great but not overpowering. :)

I'm giving this 4 stars because my 5 year old enjoyed opening it, and playing with it. Not having had one before it was not easy to see how to open it and we almost broke the key. You just push. The inside setup is cardboard cut out. Not easy to pop out the pieces, and staging doesn't really stay in place..looks great until you try to play with it. It's cute and your kid will enjoy opening it. But then interest is quickly lost. I won't be buying another one.

Thought it will be bigger... my DD loves it. It was a nice addition to her Easter basket. She was excited that the egg has 3 layers of surprises. First are the hatchimals, second layer has the stickers, the scene and the 3rd layer has 3 compartments with 3 other surprises.

I've ordered this 5 times. I got 2 different Series 1 scenes, one of each of the 2 color schemes of those, and one total duplicate (except for the accessories). Series 1 is the 3 scenes on the front of the collector sheet, and Series 2 are the 3 scenes on the back of the sheet - each of those in 2 different colors. I haven't seen Series 1 and Series 2 offered side by side, so I'm not sure if this listing is supposed to be for both or just Series 1. I also ordered Glue Dots Removable 3/16" Square to keep things in place, and it's a game changer for standing up small plastic toys.UPDATE: The 6th one I ordered is a Series 2 one.

I didn’t realize how small this Hatchimals egg was when I bought it. For $20 I thought it would be bigger. I’m not sure how much these things usually cost as it was my first time buying one, but when I opened the package my face dropped. I got this as a Secret Santa gift for my 4 year old niece and it just wasn’t what I had hoped for. Other than that it was a pretty egg. Not sure what was inside but the outside looked nice.

This is so amazing! The scene is so cute and cool! Three amazing hatchimals on roller skates!!! You might get a different hatchimals but it will probably just as amazing. The accessories are good too. I got a milkshake, sunglasses, and yellow small balloons. It’s just so amazing!

Thought it would be larger.

Doesn’t warrant the price tag. We opened it yesterday. Lots of the parts to this have been lost already as some of them are minute! The outer shell is good but the key has stopped working in the lock already. Won’t be recommending or buying again.

It was not what we were expecting. The parts were too small for my 4 year old. But she loved opening the egg shell. I feel like it should piece back together better after opening.

Very little egg with tiny toys inside, not worth the cost at all.
