The Magical Music Of Disney

If you like Disney, you will love this. This is a collection of medleys from Beauty and The Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and the Lion King. Orchestra and chorus combine to give us a top of the line listening experience. The Lion King segment alone is worth the price of the CD. The Circle of Life will blow you away.

If you like the sound of a mighty, powerful and talented chorus singing the memorable music from Disney's more recent film offerings, then I don't know how you wouldn't like this! To me, just the very first track from "The Lion King", is moving enough to warrant the purchase of this CD.Do you like this one?Well, if you also enjoy the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber, then I also highly recommend: "The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber: The Choral Album", featuring The Crouch End Festival Chorus with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Top notch arrangements and performances by everyone!Get them quick, though. I noticed today, that availability on Amazon is down to just one each of these great albums!

I bought this instantly as the previous Erich Kunzel & Cincinnati Pops compilation of Disney music, "A Disney Fantasy," is one of my favourite albums. This one isn't QUITE as good as the soloists aren't that wonderful (the ones doing solos in The Little Mermaid in particular are lacking) and the arrangements aren't as emotionally lifting, but it's by no means a bad album. I suspect part of the problem is that this was released so soon after the Disney Renaissance films came out, so there was less time to perfect arrangements and pick better soloists. Still, if you liked the previous album, or like orchestral/choral rearrangements and/or Disney music, give this a try.

Outstanding collection of DIsney suites (medleys) by the dynamite Indian University Singing Hoosiers and award winning Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. Love the clear, BIG, full voiced choir and rockin' orchestral sounds. Makes one want to sing along. RECOMMEND to anyone appreciating great music.

Not your traditional disney music cd. This is an orchestral version of the songs, something that you'd probably hear at an outdoor festival or a picnic with the pops type concert. Upon further listening it could also fit into a choral presentation, however it is a very lovely medley of songs. If you are looking for something that is more like the movie soundtracks, this is not what you are looking for.

Love anything Disney so I love this CD

As with other cd's by these artists I can only reiterate what I have written before. High quality music making and high production recording values. Not the original recordings but up there with the best, and from a recording point of view very often better than the originals. As already mentioned Erich Kunzel sadly passed away relativly recently, let's hope some other conductor or conductors can "take up the baton" so to speak with this orchestra.

The CD brings together a brilliant collection of Disney music. The music quality is great and you can almost see yourself comfortably sitting on classic red velvet seat in an impressive auditorium, closing your eyes enjoying every moment of the orchestra.
