Loving everything about this lamp. The clamp is sturdy and effective. The arm has great range of motion and adjustability. The magnifier is amazingly clear and useful. The power switch and mode selections work perfectly. The different light color modes are a great feature as well as the brightness control. I would not hesitate to buy this one again.

purchased August 16, 2019 and reviewed soon after. useful as general lamp over a work area even if not using the magnifying lens. can be plugged into USB extension cord into a USB power source, including a battery power pack that is normally used to recharge cell phones. I leave my clamp attached to the side of my desk all the time, and take out the lamp and set it next to my desk when not using it, leaving it connected to power by a USB extension cord.update dec 11, 2020: after having it a little over a year, it stopped working. Asurion protection plan did not want to pay out, so I opened up the switch button case and discovered it was because of a design flaw. Nothing in the button control case has a strong grip of the wire insulation and allowed the 3 wire cable to pull in and out during movement, which caused one of the wires to break. However, the case is easy to pop open, and if you know how to solder wires then it is easy to fix. I modified the button case slightly and added anchoring to the and anti-bend protection to the wire with heat shrink tubing before soldering it back together and reassembling the button switch case. A previous wire issue happened at the middle hinge part of the wire where the wire inside the insulation bend too much and broke apart but that was quick fixed by binding the bad wire in a small loop to keep a bad part inside the insulation together. So, unless you know how to solder wires and fix things, this lamp should only be assumed to last about a year. but these days, fifty bucks for a year of service in something electrical is about what to expect.

I truly enjoyed this lamp. My Wife and I ordered one for each of us to install on our workstations (it greatly helped us out with our individual projects/crafts) and the lamps were excellent providing light and magnification when needed. I even ordered one for a friend who is still getting great use out of it. Yesterday I went to turn the lamp on: nothing. The light flickers when the power button is pressed but does not come on at all. I've tried making sure the power cable is intact (it is) and all connections are secure (they are). I am getting power to the lamp (red power light is on) but again, nothing happens. I would like to request a replacement seeing as the warranty is 12 months and I have only had the lamp since the end of July this year.Update: the seller contacted me advising they were going to send out a replacement as soon as possible. So, I've updated the overall rating to 4 stars. I may make it 5 stars if the next lamp lasts longer.

I like this lamp and am happy with it. I use for electronics and the light and 5x magnification is very handy. In particular the ability to switch the color temperature of the light for better rendering of different color contrast is good for electronics where lots of times the writing on the parts is almost indistinguishable.The dimmer is very slow. At first I thought it was broken and started a return. But then I discovered you just have to hold the button down for quite a while (5-10 seconds) before you notice a dimming effect. Then it dims very quickly at the bottom end of the scale. Obviously their dimmer circuit is not compensated for the way the human eye perceives light. Its just a linear dimmer, which makes the top half of the dimming scale useless because although its working, the human eye cant tell the difference. But once you get to the lower half of the scale it starts appearing dimmer.Also the cord management could be better. My work bench has enough cords all over the place as it is. I would have preferred if the control panel had been on the lamp rather than in the power cord, then I could have hidden the power cord under my bench.But all in all it works well and is a good value for the money

after reading a few reviews mention a cheap-feeling construction, i was a little nervous. but after receiving the lamp, i was happy to find that it feels really solid and works well. the clamp, arm, and lamp sections all have a good weight to them and feel well made, at least to me. and it's plenty of light for my purposes. also happy to report i have zero flicker on the medium light temperature, another issue i read in other reviews.i wanted to get a light i could use to look at papers on my desk, and to use as a ring light for my meetings while working from home. happy to say it works well for both of those, plus an unexpected third use: i can softly light up the wall behind my computer monitor at night to create a nice back lighting effect and make the screen easier on my eyes. for the ring light, i rotate the lamp so it faces me from right above the webcam, and i can dim it down so its a comfortable brightness to have shining on my face. even with my limited space behind my desk, i am able to manipulate the lamp into a variety of positions for any possible use. i haven't used the magnifying function yet but i will probably use that for my occasional soldering project. and i like the white color too, looks very sleek and minimalist.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS LAMP!I don’t typically write reviews. However, in this case, I wanted to share my experience.I had purchased my first of these magnifying lamps earlier this year, and was really happy with it. I recently decided to purchase second lamp, for use in a different area, just so I don’t have to keep moving one lamp back and forth. I was lazy, and just searched for magnifying lamps, rather than looking up my purchase history. I made the assumption that these lamps would all be basically the same. I ended up purchasing one that seemed to be a good value. However, when I received it, I realized quickly they are not all of equal quality. The viewing area on the other one was only in focus right in the middle of the glass, about a 1” diameter. The rest was very distorted and made me so dizzy I was unable to use it.I subsequently started a return for the inferior lamp, and took the time to find the lamp I had previously purchased. And this is it! Having a chance to compare the two lamps, I was impressed with how well packaged this lamp is, the box also included a power adapter and cleaning cloth (not provided with the inferior lamp). Most of all, the entire area is super clear and ALL of it is in focus. The lamp is very sturdy and maneuverable, and has adjustable brightness/light colour.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS LAMP.

This is a great magnifying lamp - illuminates my task (painting) beautifully, and with different light settings, is easy on the eyes for long periods. One spring is missing, but that doesn't seem to be a problem. It would be nice if the articulating arm had one more joint for better positioning - it's a little bit limited, so I have to slide my project over a bit to get the best location under the viewer. But it works well-enough, overall.

Bought this as a gift & sent to my daughter living in City.It arrived partly broken around light but as she was anxious to be using it right away & still worked, she kept it & it was not returned.Great adjustable light quality for doing arts & crafts at table or desk.

Do not buy this product. Besides being incredibly overpriced for the build quality, I can not for the life of me get the lens clean. Appears to be a multilayer lens and the grime and dust is between the layers. At its brightest setting it is nowhere near bright enough for real detail work. For $60 I expected way more than what was delivered.

This is a fantastic magnifying lamp. One can change the color temperature of the lamp and dim it also. The lens was clear. Very happy with this magnifier.
