Easy to install

Taking out rear panel is fiddly
Product arrived on Sunday a day late. On opening the box I expected to see to round vents one on top and one rear vent which I was wanting. It had a top vent but no rear vent. I was a bit annoyed thinking I bought the wrong product. Only to find out you have to knock out the square panel which was welded to the outer casing. Had to use a hammer and screwdriver to break the welds without damaging the product so it was a bit fiddly. It has a long cable with a sealed plug. Took half an hour to install and works well. Light is nice and bright and extracts really well. I only use numer 1 & 2 buttons.

Just what I was looking for
Difficult to find this type of hood, excellent and very good value.

Good, but could be better
As an overhead extractor fan it works well, however, I have two niggles. 1. It is a white product, but has a black power lead & plug; wouldn't take much to put a white lead & plug on a white product. 2. If you are using to recirculate the air within the kitchen (i.e. not vent externally) there is no charcoal filter to remove cooking smells; you have to buy the charcoal filter separately at a cost of approx £24 - suddenly not such great value. Other than that it was easy to fit, looks good and works reasonably well.

Cost & Shape
The unit is wedge shaped with the narrow edge at the front, this means that the light which is at the front shines outwards & not downwards onto the range. This shape also means that it looks 'odd' when fitted on the area above the hob. The light could also be better located towards the rear of the unit.If using to recycle indoors it is necessary to outlay another £23 for the carbon filter required to be fitted to the unit. replaceable every 2-3 months!So overall outlay is more expensive that it appears.

The back vent is sealed, but the panel is easily removed
It’s similar to the first one I had, there are very few rear venting hoods on the market, this one fitted in perfectly. On speeds 1 & 2 you’d barely know it’s running, on number 3 it does make, what I would call “expected noise” but it’s not too noisy, it expellees at a comparable rate to far more expensive hoods.
