GREAT bit of kit but BEWARE OF INCORRECT WIRING!
Having read other reviews, first thing I did was check the wiring. The red (live) clamp was on the neutral terminal and the blue (neutral) wire was on the live. Just unplugged and swapped around. Each terminal has a helpful L and N so with care, can't go wrong really. Mine is to power a vhf/uhf transceiver and if works well, I'll get another for my CB.

Product fine but beware of Live and Neutral wires are reversed
As other reviewers have warned, **The LIVE (red) and NEUTRAL (blue) wires are reversed** which is potentially dangerous and could damage equipment/projects that it's used in. Simple to swap them over yourself and after that it works exactly as intended and a good product.

Good quality connector socket, ideal for PSU connections.
I like to try and minimise exposed connectors and wires, especially when we're talking mains voltages. I have been playing around with addressable LED projects more and I needed input power for a 'big boy' 5v output power supply. I didn't want to be stripping the end off of a perfectly good computer power cable so I did the right thing and bought this C14 socket, which means the input power cable can stay intact, I gain a handy switch, and the main exposed points remain the screw terminals on the powersupply. This switch seems to be well made, with an integrated fuse holder and a bright red light up neon-effect indicator light in the satisfying rocker switch. The forked-spade connectors were a perfect fit for the PSU screw terminals, and the cables seemed decent enough, they were labelled as 18awgn and seem about right.

Fit for purpose.
Good fit with accurate dimensions. Wiring was good and up to the job. A great addition to my 3d printer to improve safety.

nice well made unit for the common mains spade connectors
it arrived very promptly together with other orders - has a good positive 'click' to on/off and seems well made - the red 'on' light cannot be missed and is brightly lit - the unit is a bit large for smaller installations and will need its own space on my project which is just as well for mains electricity...recommended

It's a power socket for pc style cords
Exactly as described. A power socket for pc style cords. The switch works as you'd expect and the inline fuse is always helpful. The spade connections on the back of the socket do feel a little loose, but appear to make a good connection.

Reasonable quality but be VERY careful with the wiring
Decent quality - plastic is a bit on the lightweight side but adequate. Big issue (as mentioned in other reviews) is that wiring colours are completely non-standard for UK and live/neutral are connected the opposite way round to what you would expect. UK wiring is either "old style" (red-live, black-neutral, green-earth) or "new style" (brown-live, blue-neutral, yellow/green-earth). On this unit the yellow wire is connected to earth - fair enough and it's actually marked as earth on the casing. The other two wires are red and blue which mix the old and new styles. Okay... but this would lead you into thinking that red was live (old style) and blue was neutral (new style). WRONG! The red wire is actually connected to neutral and the blue to live! Potentially very dangerous. It's safe enough if you know and take this miswiring into account. "Unfortunately" they have used decent locking spade connectors on the terminals so it is not easy to swap the wires round without damaging them.
