The Answer: Putting an End to the Search for Life Satisfaction

As much as this book turns our eyes back to the Gospel, what Jesus has done, and how to apply it practically, it is absolutely worth it. I found the last two sections ('Grace' and 'Truth') especially helpful in this and I reread those sections frequently. Overall, big concepts are explained in very simple, fresh terms, which is helpful even (especially?) for a decades-long Christian like me.However, the Biblical basis for the definition of 'Glory' laid out in the first section, is thin, and doesn't hold up to the weight put on it throughout this book. When I took up Pope's challenge on p7 to 'Look up glory and see... it's used over 300 times', I found exponentially more passages on God being glorified, having/deserving glory, etc, and a few that refer to our "getting glory" or sharing His glory. I just think the Bible uses different imagery to describe what we lost/are regaining, and Pope's use of "glory" was confusing for me. I understand the vital concept he's trying to convey, but I think something like 'satisfaction', 'fulfillment', even 'Shalom', are better labels than trying to redefine "glory".

Excellent! I believe God has gifted Randy Pope with amazing writing and communicating skills. Randy has written and communicated in a way I have never heard things explained. Truly, I am blessed to have read this book and am changed by it. I continue to share with others the life-changing truths in this book...explanations of The Book, the Bible and man's purpose.

This is my number one printed evangelism tool.

If you are new to Christianity or even been around the church a while but sense something missing in your connection to God, please pick up and read this great little work explain how the gospel of Jesus Christ answers the most pressing and important issues of our hearts and lives. I've given this out repeatedly and seen folks either come back with great questions or come back a follower of Christ.
