I followed the Turbo carb cycling plan almost to the letter with the exception of the cardio workouts (I ran 3x/week for 30-40 minutes doing couch to 5K training vs. gradually increasing cardio 5 days/week per the book). I also liked that the 9-minute missions were so varied, over in 9 minutes, yet effective! I have never had weight come off of me so easily (about 20 lbs. in 9 weeks). Don't get me wrong, I still worked hard, but I found the plan very sustainable and the information clear and easy to follow. I love the cheat day and found myself not wanting too many sweets or fatty foods on those days, yet feeling satisfied by having 1 day each week to eat the things I craved. I watch Chris and Heidi's Extreme Weight Loss show and have for several years. I find what they present in the book to match what they recommend for their clients, which is great.

Solid advice that works!
This book was a game changer for me. I followed the Turbo carb cycling plan almost to the letter with the exception of the cardio workouts (I ran 3x/week for 30-40 minutes doing couch to 5K training vs. gradually increasing cardio 5 days/week per the book). good quality content, fast read, some repetition
Chris Powell is so inspiring on those extreme weightloss shows where people lose over 50% of their body weight (understanding that they are considered morbidly obese in those cases shown and they need to change or die, literally), I had to see what the foundation of this program was outside of hard working good old fashioned exercise. At the core, this is about fundamental life change. this includes being honest with yourself, retraining your mind, making positive mental connections with activities that make you feel stronger, active, more energetic, thinner, etc. he includes exercise plans but most importantly, a solid approach to eating using carb cycling - with variations depending on your goals. its well worth the read to understand this theory as it does work to change metabolism - and it made me want to read other's perspectives on the same subject. he talks about training your "furnace" to burn calories more efficiently with a combination of food and exercise. some of the book is a bit too motivational - like a silly rubber hammer blasting you on the head repeatedly - but you know, this may really work for some who may really need to hear that theme repeated (he is a motivational life coach after all). i didn't need the reinforcement or sell, just the data. my reason for reading was simply being out of shape and looking at this ultra fit dude who literally transforms peoples lives saying - if this works for them, i gotta read this. solid info, very quick read (done in two days), but also a good reference for food, daily habits, exercises, etc.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is wanting to change their life style from being unhealthy to healthy and loose weight as a bonus, as guideline to eat in a healthy manner and to be able to have a healthy plan for life. It has been a couple of weeks since reading this book and I have put into action, for two weeks now the information in the book. I can tell you that I already seen and feel the difference in my health, all for the better. I chose this book because of Chris Powell's transformations on the Extreme Makeover program on TV. I like him as a person because he is caring and is wanting the best health for each client and not just to be thin and beautiful. After all if you loose your health what do you have left? Now it does take some "tweaking" to get the right foods for you but it is worth the effort. I give this a five star because of its easy reading and understanding. At times it seems to repeat itself but it is to reinforce the thought or principle. Hope this helps anyone thinking of buying the book. I did buy the Choose to Lose:The 7 Day Carb Cycle Solution as well as this book and was able to refer to it for some information stated in the book as a back up reference. It also has some other recipes as well.

This book is for extreme beginners. Like who don't even know what calorie is. This book has fixed amount of calories for high and low carb days irrespective of your weight Meal size is based on your palm size, no calorie counting, no weighing nothing. Worst worst worst This book was biggest mistake of my life.

Méthode qui fonctionne vraiment bien, le livre est motivant et très bien fait Tout est très bien expliqué on comprend vite la méthode et les exercices a faire Dommage qu'il ne soit pas traduit en français mais l'anglais est plutôt accessible donc il est facilement lisible. On reconnaît bien dans ce livre l'atmosphère et la mentalité de Chris Powell dans ses émissions Bref je recommande

The information is a bit complicated and sometimes is difficult to understand what is a portion.Also there is no info about how much coconut oil you can use, and this is an oil that is used a lot these days especially by healthy councious people. The program seems really good, I am sure it's easier to understand when you actually start doing it but it will help if there was an appendix in form of a folding page attached to the book that you can tear up, like charts with all the info together of what you have to exercise and eat everyday. And if it's not possible, doing it in separate folding charts that you can tear up and put up in a pin board and is easier to follow.
