Why is it called a pt? pete thorn? pretend telecaster? piece o trash?

PT = Pete Townsend from the WHO. It was named PT due to the fact that Pete had high gain humbuckers in his telecaster. This was unusual because telecasters back then always had single coil pickups, but Pete Townsend wanted a harder rock sounding tele so in went the humbuckers. This is one of my fav guitars to play and sounds kick ass. Hope this helps, Frank.
