Basis Cleaner Clean Face Wash, 6 Ounce (Pack of 3)

I have sensitive skin and I’ve been using this product, well, probably for as long as it’s been around. It doesn’t dry out my face like other cleansers and is gentle on my oily eye lids. Smells really nice too. I was just ordering more and couldn’t find the gel cleanser anywhere. I see from other reviews that the gel has been discontinued, but not the bar soap… Why!? Most people use liquid soap over bar soap these days! (probably because of Friends, “Next time you shower, think about the last thing I wash and the first thing you wash.”) I hope the company changes their mind or comes out with a comparable product.

This is an awesome basic face cleanser. I love how it smells, lathers, rinses, and how my face feels afterwards. Skin is clean and soft. This cleanser is said to be for normal to oily skin. But if you have sensitive skin that is not SUPER sensitive, I'm sure you can use this. That's the kind of skin I have. I tried other formulas that are made for sensitive skin (Cetaphil) and found those to be too gentle that it didn't give me the clean feeling I wanted. This cleanser took off my make-up and really gave me balanced results--dry parts were cleaned without over drying and oily parts were cleaned and unwanted oils were removed. I stopped using this cleanser for a while only because I couldn't find it in stores anymore. I'm so glad that Amazon carries it and at an even better price than before since I'm using Subscribe and Save. I highly recommend this cleanser. I only wished it came in a more convenient pump dispenser.Last note: Make sure you do not get this stuff in your eyes. I feel like when it gets in my eyes, it's more painful than when I get shampoo/soap suds in my eyes. It might be effects of the minty botanicals... but just heed my caution.

I’ve been using this for years. Honestly like it better than many high end brands and you can’t beat the price! Removes just about everything and doesn’t leave your face overly dry or tight. Not overly fragranced just clean. One thing I always liked best about it that it’s soap free but lathers nicely so that you really get the feel of washing your face. Not just smearing it with gel and rinsing it off. I appreciate that it’s oil free too. All around good product that I subscribe to so I always have it on hand. Can be hard to find in stores.

With the recent ban of the antibiotic triclosan in acne face wash products, I needed to find a replacement for my Nivea face wash the worked great for my type of skin. After doing some research, I found some posts of some people in the same predicament that mentioned they found this product as a good replacement. It was inexpensive so I gave it a shot, and so far it seems to be working well! It cleans and leaves the skin feeling moist and not dried out. It has a nice light "natural" fragrance, which only last while cleaning, I don't notice it once I dry my face. I am usually sensitive to most items with fragrance, but this one didn't bother me at all. It is a great price and works, I just hope that Amazon keeps selling this product for a long time! This isn't billed as an acne wash, so I don't think it has an "antibiotic" in it, so for some people it may not be "strong" enough for their skin condition, but since it is relatively inexpensive it is worth a try, I believe a lot of acne is caused by overly dry skin which causes more oil production, so I think this product helps by keep the skin moist after cleaning.

As an over 20-year user of this facial wash, I am tremendously disappointed that the company discontinued this product. It was, quite literally, the best facial wash out there. It cleaned perfectly without drying out my skin. The fragrance was so refreshing—just perfect.I’m not sure what the company was thinking when they decided to jettison this facial wash. It was positively beloved by many, many long-term users, and there is nothing else out there that can compare. Shame on Beiersdorf for pulling the plug on it.

There are a lot of facial cleansers out there that are fine, but many cost a lot more than this, with dubiously valuable ingredients. Truth is, facial cleansers only stay on your face for a very short time, so any additives hardly have a chance to have any effect! When you need is something to remove excess oil without drying out the skin. This stuff is perfect for that.Basis is a very trusted brand. As a physician, I have long recommend Basis brand products to patients who needed simple, gentle cleaning without extra potential irritants and allergens.It smells pleasant without being perfumy. It washes off quickly and cleanly without drying the face. It's my go-to facial cleanser for everyday, and I put some into a mini-size, sealable container for when I travel.Very economical, especially in the three-pack.No drawbacks or hesitations.Highly recommended!

I like this cleanser for a couple of reasons. Firstly, this cleans quite well without leaving your skin dry which makes it good for any kind of skin type, especially sensitive skin. It also dissolves make-up, but won't completely get rid of all traces of it. I also love how it foams up. The cleanser is transparent when it comes out of the container, but it foams up and turns white when you start using it on your face and with water. The consistency isn't too runny, nor is it too thick. If I could compare it to something, I'd go with castor oil's consistency. Another great thing I like about this is the very subtle fresh fragrance. It's not too overwhelming that it'll disturb your smell. Overall, great basic cleanser. I have combination skin, so I do tend to have some breakouts around the forehead and chin area. Additionally, I have some other skin concerns such as black heads and large pores. As this is only a basic cleanser, it won't help you treat any of those, but it does help just keep your face clean from the day's grime and sweat.
