First Communion Bible

Grew inspirational First communion gift.

I love this Bible and am so excited to give it to my son for his FHC. I was hesitant to purchase it as we attend the TLM and I was concerned about the Mass/Sacrament descriptions being confusing for him since they are the N.O. descriptions which uses slightly different terms. The Mass and Sacrament information is well done and is a very small portion of the book. I'm thrilled for his first "adult" Bible to be this beautiful DR translation.

Beautiful book. I bought it for my daughter for her FHC The additional pages on the saints are wonderful. Beautiful full color pictures. I know some people may say that the Douay Rheims is too difficult for children to understand but, if they grow up hearing and reading it, they will come to understand in time. The only way for any person of any age to adjust to the Old English language is to read it and take the time to get familiar with it. I will buy my son his own for his FHC when the time comes. I think this is the ideal First Communion gift!

Beautiful, hard to find edition.A bit pricey, but worth it to my Catholic grandson for his First Communion.

We were looking for a special Bible for our little one’s first communion. This Bible fit the bill and then some. It’s a beautiful heirloom quality. Our daughter has a different kid-friendly bible in a more readable translation, and we have enjoyed using this Bible to show our daughter differences in the translocations. If you’re looking for a first communion gift with some weight and meaning, this is a wonderful option.

First the Cons ;1) The print is rather small. You need either 20/20 vision, or very good eyeglasses.2) This Bible did not come gift boxed (as pictured in some ads) but was shrink wrapped by publisher.Now the Pros ;1) Words of Christ are in red.2) Printing is a clear and readable typeset, using a good amount of ink.3) Nice paper.4) Lovely pictures with aids in studying Catholic prayers.5) Pretty gold page edges.6) The smaller Bible size can be easily carried in bag or large purse.7) Pretty white cover.8) This Bible has charisma.
