VertxCOF Range Bags

I was a bit harsh on the review of a range bag I returned recently. This time, I'm going the opposite direction and I have to say the Vertx COF Light Range Bag is an outstanding bag. One thing to note, the bag is on the smaller side. It's ideal for bringing a couple pistols, ammo, ear pro, etc., for a morning at the range. If you're going to pack for the day with multiple guns and calibers, you're better off going with the heavy bag.My first impression was it was a nice-looking bag. I like the fact that it doesn't look like a range bag. It does have velcro on the outside to throw patches on, but if you want to look like you're heading to the Ukraine to fight the Russians, this isn't the bag for you. It's discrete like a lot of Vertx stuff.The bag is well built and well designed. The zippers and strap are nicce and it doesn't have 400 pockets like some other bags, but everything has a purpose. I like the fact that the interior is lightly colored, so things are easy to find. The magazine pouch is great as well. I can pull it out and keep it up on the bench/countertop with me. The ammo compartment is cool. While it does limit the space in the main compartment above, I usually only bring a box or two of extra ammo with me, so there is plenty of room to store extra stuff. It also gives the main compartment a solid bottom. The CCW compartment had plenty of room to store two pistols.I highly recommend this bag, but if you like to pack a lot of stuff, go with the heavy bag.

Love the quality and materials. The ammo caddie is a game changer for me.Only thing to note is it’s best for carrying what you’ll need for a light range day and MAYBE a gun or two if you don’t use the magazine holder. I have sorta loved using the holder for all the mags I bring to the range, so for me I can’t fit any guns in the bag, but it’s not why I got it. It holds everything I bought it to hold and I look forward to getting the larger one in the future.

There is no such thing as the perfect range bag, but the Vertx COF comes close. A smaller sized bag that is perfect carrying one maybe two handguns. In the upper compartment there is a sleeve area for a large handgun and ample space to carry ear muffs, shooting glasses, gloves, loader ETC. There is also a zippered compartment for small items. On the side there is a large zippered opening for ammo storage, a magazine sleeve and it has a removable tray with a mesh bag if you’re collecting brass. This is also another zippered compartment for pencils and/or small parts.On either end of the bag there are two small zippered compartments for small tools, lubricants, ETC. Around the frame of the bag there is a heavy duty cable that maintains the bags shape and can be used to secure the bag. On the outside of the bag there are two large Velcro strips for name tags, ETC. The material the bag is made from is very robust and after weeks of use I see no signs of weakness in either the design or materials. I really like this bag!!

Love the bullet drawers, absolutely best part about it. It makes the top just shallow enough for my 3-4 sets of electronic ears, shot timer, blue gun, mags, and some random things. Not too deep where you have to dig to find stuff. The mag carrier is legit. It’s tough because I have some weight in there for sure. Everyone loves it at the range and during classes. Especially since we don’t handle guns behind the line, we can take the two bullet drawers and place guns in them and move them around. Don’t hesitate if you need a good sized range bag. It’s not huge but it fits a lot of stuff and it’s organized. Fits in the back seat of my 2020 f150 with two car seats still in the back.

I was shopping for a range bag that was compact, but could competently carry two 9mm pistols, ammo, accessories, and keep my glasses and ears from getting crushed. I came across the COF Light and initially the price turned me off but as an Amazon Prime member I could simply return it for free if I didn't like it.When I opened the package I really liked the size, look, the feel of the material, and the design was exactly what I was looking for. The top compartment is separated from the bottom by had plastic so I can load the bottom with ammo and not worry about it causing my glasses and ears. It actually has more space than I need, but its size is still great and compact for easy carry. The styling looks like any business or travel bag, no loud stickers or wording that scream gun bag LOL It does have a velcro strip on the front for badges etc, I haven't added any.If your in the market for a high quality compact range bag, give this one a try.

Built very tough! Tons of compartment areas.Could use some redesign in a couple areas though. The upper internal area is a bit too small and doesn’t fit as much as you would think. The lower ammo or the whatever bins underneath are a great size. I’m not a fan of the diagonal crossing shoulder strap.

High quality bag, accommodates a long day at the range no problem. After a few months of use my only complaint is the shoulder strap. I can get this thing to well over 100 lbs with both bins full of rounds and the strap is not very comfortable. From the truck to the range it's fine, but I sure wouldn't carry this way the whole day.I had a weird issue with a sewing error (zippers were sewn shut on two pockets with no pulls included). Vertx support was super helpful and amazon took care of the swap no problem.

Going to the range sometimes you don't wanna bring your whole arsenal. I didn't need a big bag. This holds everything from ammo, the weapon, cleaning kit, tape, hearing protection and some tools. It has a braided cord built into it, you could put a lock on for added security. Construction seems stout, nothing has ripped or anything.This works for me.
