Not fresh,as hard as a rock couldn't even soften in the microwave. Did have good flavor

I was looking for some kind of candy to decorate a chocolate birthday cake for my grandson. The strawberry licorice laces worked perfectly. I could bend them easily, and they were very tasty. They tasted like sweet strawberries, not licorice. The group of 5 year olds at the party ate them and enjoyed them. Also, the company was quick to respond to my order and it arrived earlier than expected. I can't wait to order some more.

To me they were sweeter with more strawberry flavor than the ones I remember as a kid, but they are good and very addicting. I gave a bag to my brother and he is still raving about how great they are! He says they are much better than the ones we had as kids, but I'm still looking for the ones I loved as a kid. If I can't find those it's okay because these are really good and I can braid them, tie knots with them and do all the fun things with them I used to do with the original ones. These gave me a tummy ache if I ate more than 5 at one time, so for those with sensitive tummies, do not overdo it.

The taste is really artificial. As in, “This kind of tastes like strawberry, and something else.” There’s also a weird aftertaste.I was looking for the old-school licorice but this is not it. Ooof! That flavor is weird.
