He is very easily distracted and has an imagination that takes his focus ...
My son has always struggled in school. Since 2nd grade most of his school work was sent home to be completed, because he was not able to keep up or finish at school. He is very easily distracted and has an imagination that takes his focus away. He never had discipline problems, just focus. He was tested and yes has ADD. I already knew this, because I struggle with the same thing along with other older family members. Watching him was like watching us. We were introduced to Attend and gave it a try because I didn't want to him on prescription meds after hearing the side effects etc. After a couple weeks we noticed he could sit and complete a homework project with minimal distraction. Before Attends we had to sit with him and bring him back to his work almost every 40 seconds or less. I at first did not try it because of the cost, but after seeing a difference I had to try it. What I noticed is not a greater ability to focus instead, I have less of the distractions which allow me to focus more. I sometimes describe my mind as a whirling tornado with all the task and things I need to do swirling around and it is hard to grab and stay on task while the other things are in my mind. It is also hard for me to read, because of distractions or pay attention to others, because my mind is active then I come back and wonder what the heck that person just said. Now I feel like all the other thoughts have been put to rest. They still pop up but are not as loud or distracting. I have been reading more, finishing books and enjoying it. I'm actually completing things! I don't feel any symptoms or notice anything strange or side affects, just less distractions. I don't know how, but it works. A healthy diet always help too. My son's grades have improved greatly. Now don't think that if you give your child these pills they will magically succeed in everything. We still help him with his school work and it has been a process to help him and have him grow out of the bad habits he formed before. He is now in 5th grade and excited about school again. In fact he just told me he is aiming for solid A's this semester and wants to do it with out our help. This past semester he was one grade away from Honor roll! I hope this helps.

Safe enough for a 4 year old
My 4 year old daughter is very defiant and hyper. She is classified as gifted and talented in school, but her temper is severe. Since using this product, her behavior has vastly improved, but only as long as it is in her system. I have used it since August 2009 and I have had to increase the dosage to 2 and 2 not exceed the 4 a day for her weight group. It is none addictive and I mix it with her yoqart. This is a great product, but my only concern is, does it fix the problem or just pacify it????Mommy

Can be helpful as an alternative aid
If you're looking for an alternative (gentle) aid for Adhd, we found this helpful...we're not even using the prescribed amount....although I still feel something got changed when they switched manufacturers, although they insist nothing was...It doesn't feel quite as effective.

Dangerous for some ADHD types!
My daughter was diagnosed with ADHD-I (the "I" stands for impulsivity). Because of this, we began to look for alternative medication for her to take. Since my wife is also ADHD, she took these and my daughter took the "mini capsules" as directed for 18 days. According to VAXA, you will start seeing signs of its effects after about 7 days, and it will take 30-45 days to create a "baseline." We were going to complete the time for the baseline, but my wife and daughter began showing signs of depression, high levels of anxiety, and each had violent outbursts.I called VAXA's customer service and was redirected to their 'specialists.' I was not impressed with the specialist's knowledge of homeopathy or the product. After hearing about the side effects, the specialist recommended that my wife and daughter continue to take the product for another week or so, to "see if things got better." I was shocked that he would want this to happen and reiterated the negative side effects. He explained that this product was all natural and homeopathic, and so it takes time. This disturbed me -- and so I asked the representative if VAXA would stand by their product if something happened to my daughter and wife. He said no-- that there is no way you can "prove that the product causes anyone harm." He also said that they never claimed any effects and that we are choosing to take the product. I then pointed out that he had just recommended that we continue it for another week-- and that is VAXA recommending, not us recommending (and that there is a lot of litigation over the last 15 years about products causing ill effects and finding companies liable). Then, I asked him if he was aware of side effects or how long before the ill-effects wear off -- and he said they did not know. He said there is information on each of the ingredients and their possible side-effects, but I would have to "research that." I then asked him about the 30-45 day baseline. "How do you know 30-45 days for people?"The representative answered, "because we observed this in people for this duration."I then asked, "but you never observed any ill-effects?" And he answered:"No, and no one has ever complained about our product."This is completely false-- you can look on Amazon's reviews and find complaints similar to my own (and I pointed this out to him). These complains are a minority, but they are nonetheless present. What is dangerous about this product is the lack of transparency (and apparently knowledge) these people have about their product. ADHD carries with it a wide spectrum of sub-diagnoses-- and I am sure this product works wonders for SOME of these subcategories. Please note, it is NOT helpful for ADHD-I(mpulsivity). Thankfully, it took only a few days to get the product out of my family's system and they are now fully recovered.
