The best of what the Pucked series is all about.
This is going to be the most vague review I will ever write for a book I love so much.To start, take everything you think you know about Lance "Romance" Romero and throw it all right out the window. Go ahead, I'll wait...I knew there had to be more to Lance than just the crazy parties, the hook-ups with bunnies, and the unfortunate situation with Tash. But never in my wildest dreams did I expect what was to come in Pucked Off. I never expected the tears, the heartache, the anguish. I never expected to hate a character as much as I hated her. And I never, ever expected to fall so hard and so deeply for Lance Romero. Lance completely, utterly, and absolutely owned me, even as he destroyed me. He has more depth to him than you can even begin to imagine. Helena has seriously outdone herself with this book. It's everything you've come to love about the Pucked series, but so, so much more."Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested: that is, some books are to be read only in parts, others to be read, but not curiously, and some few to be read wholly, and with diligence and attention." ~ Sir Francis BaconI feel like Sir Francis Bacon wrote this quote specifically for Pucked Off, without even knowing it. There are some books that deserves to be savored, and this for sure is one of them. I have so many quotes highlighted that I'd love to share but I honestly don't want to spoil anyone's reading experience.Pucked Off, Lance, and the wonderful heroine, will stay in my heart for a long, long time."You're all the good things I didn't know I was missing."*Reviewed for The Book Enthusiast.

Thoroughly Pucked by a Ginger
So, years ago my sister won a car, sure that was pretty cool and all. But, in 2017 I WON a giveaway allowing me access to Pucked Off before the release date and for me that's wayyyy more exciting! I randomly discovered Helena Hunting on Goodreads--I think I had just finished a different hockey book and had to have more hockey--adding Pucked to my TBR list was a good life choice.Pucked Off was delivered to my kindle around the time when I should of gone to bed, but I just could not resist, I had to take a little dip into the hot tub with Lance (he's Italian and Scottish, who wouldn't want to be in close proximity to him??!!). I was surprised that I was able to limit myself to just 2 chapters! I then woke up naturally(HA, like that happens everyday) at 5:30 am and immediately started reading some more. I was supposed to leave for work at 8 am, but that was actually when I was only jumping in the shower😲.In the other books in this series you know Lance as the fun loving crazy ladies man, but I think you will be surprised just how much we did not know about him (that's all I am going to specifically say about that because well I want you to be able to really enjoy the book without any additional info).Basically what I am trying to tell you is this...Start this series asap if you have yet to do so, you have plenty of time to get through the other books before the 21st. Practice your "sick voice" this weekend, then come Monday night or Tuesday morning use it to call your boss because ONCE YOU START THIS BOOK YOU WILL NOT WANT TO STOP. I 💓 LANCE.Thank you Helena for the ARC and thank you Melanie Harlow's Harlots Facebook group for hosting this giveaway. Being apart of both of your Facebook groups has been so much fun so far!

The second I finished this book, I wanted to experience it all over again!
One of my FAVORITE masters of Romantic Comedy goes deep in her latest Pucked novel, PUCKED OFF – which if you’re a fan of this AMAZING series, you will know that this is Lance’s story. It feels like I’ve been waiting for his happily ever after for forever, so when it was finally in my hands, I couldn’t get myself to read it right away. I was scared to be honest with you. I knew that his story was going to be unlike any other in the series, and I was afraid where that might have led. I mean, his story has been built up through multiple books, and I just didn’t want it to end yet.“I wanna deserve you. Why can’t I find a way to deserve you?”So, I finished this in about 3 hours, which is way faster than my normal. You wanna know why? Because I couldn’t put this book down for the life of me. I was entranced, captivated, and absolutely STUNNED by this book! I had NO idea that Lance’s demons ran that deep. I felt my heart breaking with every turn of the page. It left me breathless, speechless, and enamored. And I thought to myself, Helena Hunting put me under her spell AGAIN! I don’t know how this author does it – constantly pushing the boundaries on this series and surprising us with every new release. My heart might have been breaking throughout this story, but Ms. Hunting carefully mended it back together with the ease of a FANTASTICALLY TALENTED romance author. The second I finished this book, I wanted to experience it all over again! THAT is what makes this a 5 STAR READ! THAT is what makes this an absolute MUST READ! And THAT is what makes PUCKED OFF one of my FAVORITES of the series!*ARC provided by the author*

This book is everything
Pucked Off is a perfect love story between a perfectly imperfect couple who owned my heart from page one. I never thought the Pucked series could get better but this is my new favourite.Lance is for all intense and purposes, on the outside looking in. While his team mates have all settled with their better halves, he's trying to shake off a bad apple that's rotten to the core.Lances story is far more angst ridden than the other Pucked books. But of course just when things get too heart breaking, Violet pops up to offer some levity.I cried, I laughed, then ugly cried some more. Pucked Off is a rollercoaster of a ride I didn't want to get off. Helena Hunting, you are my Jedi master, the Spock in a world of Kirks and I bow down to you.If you read no other book this year, make sure it's Pucked Off.I'd give this eleventy billion stars if I could.

My Favourite Pucked book
This is by far my favourite Pucked series book (a hard feat, considering how much I love them). It's darker than the others but that's exactly what makes it so fascinating.Lance is so broken by his past, and that shows clearly in his aggressive and overly sexual behaviour when he is actually the sweetest human being ever. It might not make sense to many with a normal upbringing but I've seen this exact behaviour in real life victims of abuse. Props to the author for describing the conflict and the difficulty in getting away from the people and situations that hurt you.I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS BOOK!

I have a new book boyfriend
Oh My God, I loved this book. Lance has always been the haunted soul of the group and I was not disappointed in this book.Lance is a hockey star, who has had his fair share of woman and bunnies but Lance just wants someone to love him for him, not the big hockey player. He is a little jaded and has a troubled past but this is not going to stop him finding the happiness his other team mates have had.The book starts with Lance receiving a call from his “Ex-girlfriend” Tash, a toxic force of nature and one that is like a drug to Lance, but this time he has had enough it is the last time she is going to treat him this way, who is he kidding. So after theses encounters Lance is always in a dark place and this time is no exception, so he decides to drown his sorrows and gets into a fight.Once returning to training on the ice, the trainer gives Lance and ultimatum he needs to see a masseur for his back injuries or he is warming the bench. Lance then gives in and the trainer gets him in as a favor with a friend, Lance is not happy as he has an aversion of people touching him so he is not sure how this will work.Lance meets his masseur and she is pure and innocent but he starts to have feelings for this woman and he can relate to the feels his team mates talk about their relationships. Can Lance dream about having a meaningful relationship with this woman or will his reputation frighten her off and is she strong enough to fight all his demons and his past to love the sweet man she knows is inside him.I love this story the heartbreak that Lance faces from such an early age had me crying and wanting to comfort him, all while reaching for the tissues, I am so glad you wrote a character who suited him so well, who is delicate but strong minded and can call his crap out. I think I have a new book boyfriend and can’t wait to read the next installment in this series (secretly hoping, nudge nudge, that it is Darren and Charlene story. Pretty please, with a cherry on top).

One of my favourites from this series. I loved Lance and Poppy!
4.5 Stars.I must have been on holiday when "Pucked Off" came out, because if I was around, I would have read it. So when it was on sale recently, I snapped it up. I wasn't going to miss out again. I've loved this series so much and so I was eager to read Lance's story and I gotta say that this book took me completely by surprise, but in a totally good way. It turned out to be one of my favourites of this series. If you haven't read this one yet, don't leave it any longer. Lance and Poppy's standalone second chance romance was a beautiful one.As I had already met Lance in the previous books of the series, I had pretty much second-guessed how this book would go. I really thought I knew Lance, but this story changed my view of him and opened my eyes to what a gorgeous man he truly was. Lance made it so easy for me to fall in love with him and having made this discovery about his true personality and his back story, I wanted nothing but good things for him. As usual with me, I avoided reading the synopsis so I really thought that this novel would be all about Lance and Tash, but when I realised what was going on with the couple, I began to want different things. I could not understand how Lance and Tash could work out, so when Poppy entered the story, I breathed a sigh of relief. What followed was a story that I loved every minute of reading. Poppy and Lance were so good together. Lance was deliciously sweet and made me swoon a hell of a lot and Poppy was the perfect girl that Lance wholeheartedly deserved. It made my heart so happy to see this pair fall for one another. This is a romance that I'm so glad that I read. It was another brilliant addition to what has been a fabulous series.I also loved catching up with all of the "Pucked" gang. I adore every one of the characters in this series. If you haven't read this series yet, I highly recommend one-clicking. It contains all of the ingredients for the best sports romance series. It is by far my favourite in the genre.

4.5 Tortured Hero Stars
I have been itching to read this book....itching! I had a countdown and everything. I wondered how Lance Romero's story was going to play out because whist he did have moments where I liked him in previous books (Alex's nasty incident on the ice when Lance displayed great team loyalty), there were plenty of times that I thought he acted stupidly, recklessly and he came across as pretty selfish. How was Ms Hunting going to turn me around to Team Lance??She did change my mind and at times my heart clenched at the things Lance had been through. His character is complex and dark and the book as a whole packs an entirely different vibe to the ones that came before it in this series. Having said that, there are some really comical moments that made me laugh out loud. I guess, in a way , this book brings a brooding quality with it that reminded me more of the Clipped Wings series - I adore those books too.You need to just jump into this story and find out who the gorgeous heroine is who saves Lance from a desperately lonely existence. He really did seem quite alone at times. The gang rally round him - Randy is loyal as ever but it was Lily and Violet who made the most effort to mend him and his heart. So why not 5 stars? IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ A SPOILER STOP HERE -Just know it's a cracking read that will break your heart a little bit but will fix it again and leave you with the sweetest feeling ....The rest of you...c'mere......I wanted a bit more of Lance and his girl without Tash hovering in the background. Even though she is physically absent for most of the book, I felt like Tash was a constant in his mind with her relentless pursuit (read that as stalking) of him. I hated that she had that much influence. I would have liked more of just Lance and his sweet girl after the Tash problem was resolved. As the 'baddie' in the book, Ms Hunting did an excellent job in making me despise Tash and even though Lance alludes to her having a screwed up childhood also, I felt no sympathy for the manipulative shrew at all.HEA? Yes. Loved the ending.Cheating? No. You do see Lance at the very start of the book with Tash and some other random woman which Tash has orchestrated. He is not with the heroine at that point. The sex scene is not romantic. At all.I love this series and Lance's story did not disappoint. I'm looking forward to more about my favourite Hockey guys......
