PrandiProfessional Axe PRA3516T

Good axe for the money, I actually bought two since I was impressed with the quality of the first axe so I ordered a second and it's just as good. The grain of the handle is excellent, the hang is pretty good, straight, the wedge could be counter sunk but all in all it's great. The negatives, why I didn't give 5 stars, the finish on the handle is awful in your hands, very coarse like 40-60 grit, with a varnish or lacquer finish, and the square handle at the head feels wrong, but I'll take the draw knife to it and take care of that, all in all I think it's better than my helko axes from a quality and price point.

I've never had an axe make this much noise when it strikes a tree. Sounds like a tuning fork.

I did a lot research and watched you tube reviews on axes; and, my choice came down to either a Prandi German Style or a Gransfor Bruks felling axe. I decided on the Prandi and I'm glad I did. The axe exceeds my expectations. The edge is scary sharp and just begging for bark. Head is straight and true and hung just right. The narrow blade profile will ensure the cuts are deep. The 8"+ cutting edge will help to reduce misses and damage to the handle. Pretty sure this will be my last axe. Plus it was $200 cheaper! Someone put a lot of thought into the design of this axe!

Bought this after seeing Wranglerstar’s review on it. Paid about $70 for it. Bit had a small chip towards the heel. Haft is noticeably offset, but wood quality is decent and grain orientation is acceptable. Cheeks are nice and thin, seems to bite into wood better than most American patterns. Had to make a sheath for it.
