Saved me a trip to IKEA and allowed me to add extra shelves to my PAX wardrobe and my BILLY bookcases.

Received my bag of 100 pegs. My pets are in new condition unlike others have received but are supposed to be 5mm diameter by 20mm length. Not only are they fractionally less than 5mm in diameter causing them to be sightly loose, they're also only 18mm in length. Take these ~<5mm, 18mm in length, subtract the 1mm center shoulder, account for there being a "sidedness" (with one side of all pegs being slightly indented, I suspect by the cutting process), and you end up with loose ~8.5mm of surface area on each side of the peg for support. I can't trust these to hold things a shelf in place. Then, as I did for a test, place it into a slightly overdrilled hole (I did this when testing different bits, in this case a very gently ramped counterbore bit drilled from the opposite side), and they fall out of their own accord. They'd be okay in a pinch but useless for a truly firm fit. At this price not worth my time to send back. Looking for better.

I was repurposing my mom's bookshelves and noticed that the pegs were cheap, tiny plastic. I immediately hopped on Amazon to find replacements for the ones that were missing or broken. I could tell that there quality was great when I picked up the bubble mailer and felt the weight. However, I guess these are not "standard" and they would not hold the shelves :( it sucks because they are such good quality and would have been so convenient.

These 5mm pins have a slight taper near the tips. If like me you substitute a 3/16" drill bit for the standard 5mm drill bit to drill custom shelf pin holes in addition to the standard *System 32* groupings, these pins are easier to start in the slightly undersized 3/16" holes. They are perfect for amateur DIY furniture customization! Also, the low price and fast ship made for a great purchase!

An old friend gave me an old shelf that has lost some of its pegs over the years. This set has saved some of my precious shelf space!! Perfect fit! Make sure you know the correct size before you buy new pegs for your shelves. There are three or four standard sizes from which to choose.

Disappointed that once again the description of an item is not verified. The pins are not 5mm and are loose if used in a 5mm hole.

We have a billy bookcase that's pretty old. These work for that which was what I was looking for. Now we can still use the bookshelf. Some were harder to get in than others. But not too big of a deal to me.

Works as intended! I am using these to replace a few that were lost on a book shelf. They arrived today and i test fitted them as i saw a few reviews that claim they fit loosly. In my case they worked perfect!!! Snug fit on an ordinary bookshelf. I was going to wrap a small piece of vinyl tape to make them fit tightly but that was not necessary. I would recommend!
