Absolutely perfect, not a toy
A perfectly good trainer. Most katanas are a slight bit heavier but this is harder to wield, since it is tip forward in weight and longer than a standard katana even if you're 6' or more. It builds great muscle memory and has the durability to be used against any target (aside from swords obviously). This will increase wrist strength, muscle memory when drilling, and give you a very good idea of wielding a katana with an edge without putting your limbs in jeopardy. I definitely recommend this product of you are thinking of buying a katana with an edge. Not only does it have a good weight that will condition your wrists and other muscles, but it's a little longer and will build good muscle memory that will help to transfer over. It should be said that this isn't a toy and can deliver strikes that can put someone on the ground and in the hospital without caution. It looks great, is an amazing value, and the balance is forward heavy but helps to build muscle and strength in key places. Overall I'd say it's a 4.75 out of 5 just because of the handle, it's a hard plastic that isn't sized for most, but it will also help build up tolerance to using an actual katana. After spending a few weeks with this trainer I could easily make it whistle and deliver hard strikes single handed with no harsh feelings to myself. And when I received my katana I could wield it even more efficiently than this trainer, mostly due to size (trainer 44" , actual 41.5" and balanced) love it, it's lots of fun and hold up to almost anything, but again this isn't a toy and can harm others or worse. Great for practice, self defense, wrist strength, muscle memory, kendo training, and understanding the weight of an actual katana.

Different than classic Bokken
Good O Bokken. For those who don’t know this is bigger than a normal Bokken. It is heavier, thicker in both handle and blade, and slightly longer as well. Get this if you are training power while moving slowly and you have a normal bokken already. Do not get this as a first bokken. It has a specific use in training. Get the one called training dagger on Amazon from cold steel for a normal size bokken that isn’t too oversized (the classic bokken from cold steel is oversized as it is compared to a wooden bokken)

This is a beefy boy
This is a beefy boy. Looks like it’s about 2 inches longer than regular bokkto. It is quite a bit heavier and a lot thicker. It would be great for building up arm, strength, good value blade shaped matches my katana quite well and it is very functional. If Musashi would have had the cold Steel O-bokken, his students would have not had to finish off Sasaki Kojirō.

This is the bigger, thicker, heavier version of the 92bkkc. It's heavier, more robust, beefier than the 92bkkc, I'm more accustomed to the weight for training. The weight gives it a nice heft that makes it feel more tougher than the 92bkkc as well. I keep comparing this with the 92bkkc because I own both. I should've bought this version from the get go. Having said this, this is the newer version with a molded handle that simulates the cloth wrapping of a Katana, personally I don't like it as much. I rather it be smooth like a traditional bokken, except made of a durable polymer.

this is a bit too unwieldy for me for just sparring I'm better served by the regular size model
This is the second gen of the 44" O-Bokken from Cold Steel, the difference being the increased heft and rigidity and the new molded wrap pattern on the tsuka. I bought this one before I bought the second gen 40" regular sized Bokken (I also have the first gen 40" bokken). That said, this is a bit too unwieldy for me for just sparring I'm better served by the regular size model; however this larger one is a lot of fun for crushing various things as it's pretty indestructible, laugh. The prior versions had smooth grips, and while these new molded tsukas look nice, they are tougher on the hands after a while.

Good begining instrument.
Traditional long swords are between 40-60 inches, this being an overall length of 44 inches makes it a shorter long sword, but the length will be noticed unless practicing in an open space. I'm a 6 foot tall man and I would say this is more of a medium length sword. The tsuba reaches the middle of my thigh, and tip of handle rests just below the navel. The grip feels nice in my hands, except for when my palms get sweaty, then it begins slipping a bit; but usually I wear gloves, so it's fine. Though the plastic is durable, I've torn some chunks out of the blade from contact with wooden posts; whatever, it gives the blade more character. I've not sparred with this sword, but I imagine it could handle moderate contact if you don't want to cause too much damage.

Good for dojo use
Pros: Approved for Dojo use (check with your sensei first though) Does not break after many whacks against wood bokken Grip is way better than a smooth wooden bokken Fairly straight curve Makes good swooshing sound, better than wood bokken Cons: Slighty bent from side to side, so not perfectly straight when looking down the spine

Huge
It is very wide, thick, and heavy. I was not expecting it to be so bulky, but I am still overall very pleased with it for the price of roughly 30 USD. I got this as something between a fidget toy and exercise equipment, and this would definitely be a great way to build up forearm muscles as long as you have the space and do not feel self-conscious waving around a big plastic samurai sword like an absolute dweeb.

Good weight, pretty solid
Got the O Bokken over the regular CS bokken for the extra weight and rigidity. She weighed in at 800 grams as advertised, which was pretty close to my 28 inch blade katana (1000 grams). It's a bit longer than my katana, so I cut off 3 inches from the blade tip and reshaped it with a sander and file. The balance and feel is now pretty close to my katana. Handle is a bit thick, but not too much that it's uncomfortable.
